  1. Good luck with the move.
  2. Love the jacket cover.
  3. Are you moving?
  4. Jim beat me to it but whenever they win they raise the “W.” I’m obviously not a Cubs fan but I love their history, the fans’ camaraderie and the ballpark, how it’s right in the community. It’s all somewhat similar to the Red Sox.
  5. The only one I can find on cd.
  6. Thought this might be of interest. Occasionally on Fridays, the Times has a column called The Enthusiast, where a person rights about authors they love, who may not be so well known today, and pinpoints books to start with. The series has been running since July 2017. The Enthusiast

I purchased a Sony Walkman NW A45 and like it quite a bit. It has Bluetooth so I can play it wirelessly in my car and it sounds better in my car than the old iPod (or so it seems to me). I'm now looking into some good headphones. Based on comments I've seen on the Hoffman Forum, I may purchase Beyerdynamic DT 770s.
  8. I can’t explain the purpose although I think they’re silly (I don’t look at them) but they seem harmless.
  9. Do you mean the threads of pictures of the Eiffel Tower, windmills, etc.
  10. Here’s the original list as published in the Daily Beast. Yes, W & P was missing. https://www.thedailybeast.com/10-russian-novels-to-read-before-you-die The writer is a Professor of Russian Literature at the University of Virginia so I think he knows what he’s talking about He’s also written a good guide to W & P: Give War and Peace a chance. I found it very helpful when reading W & P.
  11. If you come in spikes up in this day and age, you’re asking for trouble. If this happened in the 60s or the 70s, it’s no big deal I’ve heard the spin from the NY media this morning. Blah, blah. Tonight could be interesting but I’m sure nothing will happen as I’m sure the umpires will talk to both managers before the game.

It may be irrelevant for European companies but not so for US companies. For example, if Apple Music wanted to add some of these (unlikely, I know), they'd still need to hunt down the rights holders.
  13. Thanks for sharing that. I live in NJ and would love to see the Studio. I hope she can turn it into a museum.
  14. I listened to the first two discs yesterday. First time I’ve heard it. I love Wynton’s playing but Coltrane’s playing was on another level.

  16. There has to be some irony, somewhere, that the White Sox play at a place called Guaranteed Rate Field.

I found this Guild Discography on line. http://www.78discography.com/Guild.htm
  18. What a wild one that was! I’m not sure we deserved that goal but we’ll take it.
  19. RM is living on the edge, the precipice, actually
  20. Not yet but without those two teams they have a better chance than they had on Monday. As a Spanish fan, I hope Sevilla wins. An all Spanish final would be wonderful.
  21. With Barcelona out (how sweet that sounds!), the way is now open for Real Madrid (assuming they can win today; fingers crossed) to win a third consecutive Champions League
  22. Let's face it: the starters aren't that great once you get past Severino and Tanaka, and Cashman -- at least so far -- has made the mistake many make: thinking that because the bullpen did it in 2017, they can replicate it in 2018. You have to change it up from year to year to be successful.
  23. Boone is like a deer caught in headlights.
  24. The Mets are looking great so far; I’m enjoying this tremendously but the starters are not carrying their weight. They’re averaging between five and six innings a start, which, if not remedied, will take it’s toll on the bullpen.
  25. This one looks pretty interesting.
