This is based on interviews from the podcast One True Sentence where Hemingway experts and writers discuss Hemingway, his work, the man and the world he lived in. The term “one true sentence” comes from his posthumous memoir A Moveable Feast where Hemingway wrote “All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence that you know.' So finally I would write one true sentence, and then go on from there.”

By coincidence I just finished Kurkov’s Grey Bees.

Target is having its periodic sale on music and movies. For example, if you buy three records, the third one is free. Over at Hoffman many have found that if you place your order and then immediately cancel two of the items in your order, you still get the third at a reduced price. The sale runs through November 26.

Nowadays you just don’t know. The Dodgers just cleared a whole bunch of money by non-tendering Bellinger and the Giants say they won’t be outbid by anyone. The Yankees without Judge might finish last in the division.

Train shows are fun. I went to one a couple of years ago down in Edison. Not only was the hall big but it was packed.

I just looked at eBay and there were only two copies, one at $65 (in Germany) and one at $103.

Disc 2. I haven’t been doing a whole lot of listening for the last couple of weeks as I’m trying to recover from Covid and now a bad cold. Thank goodness for the vaccines.

I find it hard to believe that Palmeiro, etc. are on this ballot.

Re-visiting the LD Mosaic. It’s been a few years since I listened to it.
