Forthcoming from Mosaic: JATP, Sonny Clark
Brad replied to ghost of miles's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I believe the JATP info had been posted before. Thank you for the updated info David. Great news about the Sonny Clark info. I feel the same way about the Clark set as about Hubbard; I have all the material that would probably be on this set and would be inclined to pass although that’s not a certainty. -
51? Jesus. RIP. My first reaction when I heard just now was the one Jim had. Even it wasn’t due to his weight or heart, being overweight is just not healthy. 51 is too damn young.

According to Discogs, 1991.

My son was awaiting a package the other day but when he looked up the tracking in the morning he found that it was now somehow in a town about half an hour from here. I called that po and they caught the package in time before it went back to the distribution center. I went over there and picked it up and asked them since everything is scanned how it could be mis-delivered. They told me that they normally get 15 packages a day that are mis-delivered and they, too, can’t figure out why this happens.

True. I never get involved in those discussions as I find they have little to offer, especially the Tone Poet thread. The Listening to Jazz thread has very little of that.

What rules are you referring to? The mods over there will ban you at the drop of a hat so you do have to be careful.

That’s when I started watching him then too. I agree with you about Fremer. When Mike said he had a conflict of interest because he received free product from ERC he claimed that had nothing to do with anything. Although Mike is a retailer he still strikes me as a straight shooter. Do you ever watch 45 RPM Audiophile’s channel. It can be interesting although there is a certain sameness to it after awhile. However, he has developed a name and does have good guests.

Mike Esposito had a way of getting under a lot of people’s skin. He did several videos on ERC that caused waves, especially with Fremer. They did a video together; I think Acoustic Sounds moderated it. It was funny to see Fremer squirm. Mike’s YouTube channel is a worthwhile watch. The people at Hoffman amply discussed the MoF issue; I think the thread is up to 710 pages.

Nick Brignola eats up the changes on "Sister Sadie"
Brad replied to Larry Kart's topic in Recommendations
I seem to remember it on a cd (other than Mosaic), but could be in error. -
David, that episode came to mind when I saw the title of the thread. That’s a Picasso painting, Three Musicians.

I was planning to purchase the vinyl, maybe the CD but I think I will just stick with my JRVG.

Hope you make a quick recovery.

I received an email from Tommy saying she was going out of business. When I questioned him about it, he said “they will be gone from her stock in about a month. They are going out of business. Her words to me unless she is lying. ‘I did reply Tom. Said I’m going out of business.’”

Looks like that album has seen better days.

I used to read his stuff on his Substack page and Twitter but stopped doing so, I found him tiring.

Mosaic to release 1960s Freddie Hubbard set
Brad replied to J.A.W.'s topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I have all or almost all of these. Just can’t see purchasing this set, plus he’s not my favorite trumpet player. 😂 -

My late boss who was a big jazz fan used to say that I only listened to the “dead guys” and by and large he was right. I don’t really listen to the current BN artists save maybe for Charlap. Does that bother me? Nope. Happy where I am. As a matter of fact don’t listen to a whole lot of BN anymore. As you said it’s not really a label it’s a brand.

Lucky you.
