I have both volumes but it’s been a long time since I listened to them. Another good, also on Roulette, is Jaws and Stitt at Birdland.

Reservoir’s release indicated they acquired his “publishing and recorded rights.” Without more information it’s hard to know what exactly they acquired and under what conditions and limitations. Obviously, they have no rights to his catalogue now owned by Concord/Craft, other than any royalties C/C may be obligated to pay him.

Yes, that’s Barry Harris and as you said he was a real keeper of the flame.
-
One site I saw said the Stitt would be available on cd but I didn’t see it on Amazon unlike the Bishop and Scott dates.

An album with a lot of feeling. Just now:

It’s now a permanent rule. Many traditionalists are upset by it but I like the rule. 15, 16 inning games are not fun to watch.

Are there any box bargains currently available?
Brad replied to GA Russell's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Your hypothetical, though, is a contract law question and Kevin’s post doesn’t have anything to do with radio air play. -

Thanks. Looking at the Cookers one. -
Apparently it was issued in 2015 and it’s being reissued again. I suppose it’s being issued in vinyl is what makes it novel.

Hadn’t heard of this company before but looks like they have some interesting releases, some Billy Harper, Dexter, Monk and Yusuf Lateef, plus other genres. Perhaps this release is a way to gain more recognition. https://www.gearboxrecords.com -
This was re-issued in Japan in 2021.

Disc 7. Lester appears with Sonny Stitt on a couple of tracks at a 1957 concert at the Chicago Opera House. I wonder how many times they appeared together on the same stage.
-
Many of the people over there are overly fixated on the minutest of issues. The Classics series has re-issued some rare recordings. I tend to purchase more of that series than TPs, which I mostly have in cd and are fine for me.

The RSD blurb says “While these tracks have previously appeared on other albums, this is the first time they have been gathered in one package.”

Albert Ayler - Europe 1966, from Org Chet Baker - Chet, from Craft. First time in mono in a long time. Chet Baker - Blue Room: The 1979 Vara Studio Sessions In Holland, from Anagram Miles Davis - TURNAROUND: Unreleased Rare Vinyl from On The Corner Bill Evans - Treasures Solo, Trio & Orchestra In Denmark 1965-1969, from Anagram Records (looks to be part of Elemental Records) Charlie Parker - Afro Cuban Bop: The Long Lost Bird Live Recordings, from Liberation Hall/Rockbeat. Max Roach and Archie Shepp - Force - Sweet Mao - Suid Afrika 76, from LMLR Archie Shepp - Live at Massy, from LMLR Sonny Stitt - The Bubba Sessions Sonny Stitt - Boppin’ in Baltimore, from Anagram. Mastered by Bernie Grundman The Bird one doesn’t look like anything special: a compilation of previously released sessions. There are also a couple of Muddy Water releases that look interesting.

Another one to buy.
