re: Baker/Prestige w/Coleman there were five LPs that came out of of that association, and only(?) one 2-CD set that left a lot out. There's a good set to be made there, I'd think. Baker himself was in good-enough form, but the rest of the band comes on pretty strong. George Coleman,Kirk Lightsey, Herman Wright, & Roy Brooks, that'll work. Plus, you got the whole Richard Carpenter thing going on...could make for a nice annotation, all of that.

Exactly. I knew those records from when they were new, and I'd be more inclined to buy them in a cost-effective bundle than as 4 single CDs. Nothing really "wrong" with the music, not that, it's more the production/assembly of the programs for the records, seems like it could have been tighter or something. Anyway...Wounded Bird certain finds their niche and fills it well. Kudos to them!

Bizarre. It's not that I don't like Mabel Mercer, it's that I don't get her (or any of that type thing). At all.
