stupid question about th US: he's been in there for four months now (and what he allegedly did is not a mystery murder but - so it seems - a straightforward to check offense) what are the chances he's in there innocently? -

all the indictments so far only contain charges of uploading (no doubt because that is the only thing which can be proved "online", remember that initially the indictments also didn't have the accused's names)... but fwiw, the board had a "producers" subforum so you can be fairly certain that at least in some cases further (horrible) charges will be added -

only chance is that he's not guilty, chances he's not the arrested guy are virtually zero. feels seriously awkward! -

here is an email from bill barton, written a year ago to the jazz programmers list where he says his address changes to 333 Summit Avenue in Kent, WA http://lists.jazzweek.com/pipermail/jazzproglist/2010-July/044984.html so name, age, city and the 333 (which is seen in the video) match... which doesn't mean he's guilty but which makes it unlikely it's not him; here it says William Barton aka blackbart2010 was arrested already in April http://mynorthwest.com/?nid=11&sid=524954 which matches his disappearance, here is the youtube channel of a guy calling himself blackbart2010 who likes Chris McGregor http://www.youtube.com/user/blackbart2010 and here http://www.justice.gov/opa/documents/indictment-blackbart-second-phase.pdf is more info if you want it... -
weird, i can't see it! maybe they have different rules depending on where you live...

for an example i could test: the picture in post 19264 here is not displayed, but jeffcrom probably did not notice because he had looked at the picture here before posting and thus could see it... this is increasingly getting a problem because more and more sites don't want their pictures displayed elsewhere... the safest way out is to upload pictures to one of those image repositories, forgot the names of those, not as tedious as it sounds but tedious anyway...

some pages prohibit linking to their pictures (to keep their data traffic low) but if you clicked on the picture and have it in your browser cache, it will look on your computer as if the linking had worked... kinda hard to test these things, but in theory you should not see a picture in my post initially, but if you click this link http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/8d7c59c94f32d0916b1ed84441b1a8df/3368570.jpg and then reload the post you should see it. (at least that's my guess about what happened)

the new johnny dankworth set also has a fairly exciting line-up with Red Rodney, Lockjaw, Cecil Payne... will spin them soon...

Happy Birthday, Shawn! I wish you all the best for the next year!

they all look the same to me

and the Fatha Hines record is signed by Fatha Hines (who - unlike Wynton - wrote on the reconrds' label and not on the vinyl); cometing with those Wynton-signed 78s are the two ugly Pearl Bailey posters who were signed by just about anyone (guess it's easier to convince Lee Konitz to sign a Pearl Bailey poster than a Duke Ellington 78, slightly different with Wynton M))

btw, the Smalls Live Archive is a great place to check out most of these guys... just listening to Richardson here http://www.smallsjazzclub.com/index.cfm?eventId=3525 this DiRubbo concert has been a favorite for quite some time now http://www.smallsjazzclub.com/index.cfm?eventId=2616 (mostly due to the contributions of Monte Croft though)

yeah, but then most of our dads didn't get the recognition they truly deserved... that said, I am looking forward to the box and am very grateful for the bits of information that shawoody brought to us...
-
I bet one of the albums in the box is named after shawoody...
-
take a look here: http://excellencerecords.com/about.html the instrument is his trademark Braithophone and the drummer is Marvin Bugalo Smith

the track lists on amazon do indeed match Antwerp (Disc 1): http://www.plosin.com/milesahead/Sessions.aspx?s=671028 Copenhagen (Disc 2, 1-5): http://www.plosin.com/milesahead/Sessions.aspx?s=671102 Paris (Disc 3): http://www.plosin.com/milesahead/Sessions.aspx?s=671106 haven't seen the track list for Rotterdam though; Disc 2 ends with versions of Agitation and Footsteps which could be the beginning of the Paris concert (which apparently was missing those two tracks in previous bootleg issues, see link)

no problem, sorry for digging out silly stuff all the time, but believe me you wouldn't want my job at least for the next few weeks....
