iron city: big john, or larry on B3?
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez replied to chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez's topic in Artists
thank u : when i searched for it the results came up per posting instead of just thread titles and i could sift through all of the posts -
some guy on the amazon rev. said its really larry? is that really so? why is he listed as big john? how does this lp match up against the blue notes?

yoshis is confusing. 1) dont get killed by the amtrak which runs IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET in front of yoshis. 2) they dont do reservations, just tickets- so yuo have to pay upfront 3) get there early to get a good seat, but even if youre early sometimes they screw you sincerely, Chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez

Chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez sez: Gimme a break mr. goldberg the reason grant didnt have a hit is not cause he was a junkie. lots of junkies have had hit records. grant did have 45rpm jukebox singles but they just never picked up it had nothing to do w/ his personal habits sincerely, Chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez

dan gould: you have a 1in" VTR reel to reel video recording of that? does that mean at one time u had a reel to reel 1 in tape VTR TV recorder? for originator of post: is this from your personal collection or did you just find on net-- if its on the net do u think the whole show cirrculates at all on tape--- my friend who downloads of the net hasnt mentioned this one yet in the lists he sends me of all the rare jazz vids being put on the torrent servers.... -
there is a good portion of the jazz public who feels trading recordings-- ANY recordings of our great dear departed jazz heroes should be dissmenated as cheaply and quickly as possible. in my thread i was hoping id catch the few here on this board to send blanks to. but now i see its frowned upon at this particular place and fine i wont bring up cdrs in a public post again.

wait so is this a vidoe link or audio only link. if its video im freaking out. i haev 2 see it. i have a copy of the lee morgan b'case from the jazz messengers. thats 1965, lees most creative year on record. how he had time 2 play in ENGLANJD w/ blakey in between making cornbread/infinity(hisbestswinginghardbopLP)/and GIGILO and whats the other 65 one as a leader...is it rumproller??? oh god youre gonna have to fill me in on that one. anyways lee in the 70s was cutting edge-- he wasnt just ripping off miles or making really bland fusion like some of say blue mitchells 70s lps as a leader were more leaning twds- lees new tunes had crazy heads and it was a clear extension of charts he and written in the 60s+prior. -
so will verve a) never release it b) remaster it and reissue it at some point c) none of the above please explain your choice i pick b) beacuse its a full session its most likely not a "train wreck". assuming its not, the material should be released. they should know the figures of what a cd release like this would pull in money wise, so they should do their little thing then remaster the tapes and issue it. has anyone heard it here- soul stream, i'm looking in your direction....

for the millointh time: SS1 mailed me a dex box set and only 2 of the 7 discs even played in the cd player. the rest all were 1 giant track that skipped every 3 seconds. to this day i still have them for posterity purposes and would gladly mail them to one of you to prove to you this is not just a tale.

sorry Aggie i was just relating my expierence at the border but just so you know I have a great love for Thai food in fact i just had a Panang curry last night that couldn't be beat. The combination of sweet and spicy is unparalled in western cooking.
