  1. i just have the liberty stereo--- so i guess it originally was only put out in mono, then liberty stereo a little later. theres arent any audiophile releases of this one i dont think
  2. Mundell Lowe / Bucky Pizzarelli / John Pisano all star gtr summit,- best jazz show ive seen in a long while, it was amazing. their tone is so pure and you can hear the pluck of the strings almost, i love their sound. it was a real guitar jam, w/ someone rockin a lead while others did rhythm, 2 rhythm, it was really great
  3. theres a lot of sun ra stuff that could fit in this category
  4. bingo- thanks my friend, i didnt know rateyrmusic was a useful site, so much spam out there, like music cat. sites that dont really do anything. but ill check it out..... lately dsicogs is way better than a long time ago, ive been going to that one more and more......
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Charlie-Parker-Jazz-at-The-Philharmonic-Vol-3-ARCO-AL-2-DG-10-33-LP-1A-1A-/351352700464?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51ce40be30 checkin this out on ebay, it says granz presents, but i wonder why it wasnt on norgran, seems like a legit issue of some weird sort and not a bootleg--
  6. i wish they were pluggin a different product, i mean spinal surg is such a serious subject, and i dont understand why spinal surg even needs to advertise, it really seems like it should be more private. i mean if u need spial surg, yr gonna get in contact w. who you need to. i wish the hosp. would but that production / air time cash, into spinal surg resarch and equipment....dont get me wrong its cool it features george coleman, and i hope gc jr is ok, but i mean the ad is real heavy.
  7. How is it? I'm tempted with the LP version of that one. good heavy vinyl, its pretty quiet, or quiet enough-- definitely a great piece
  8. i have the 90s japan import somewhere but i need the VDJ
  9. [soundboard rec.] 7/13/84/Greek Theater- Berkeley, CA complete show except drums 3lp set on very heavy nice vinyl, released 1991.
  10. never knew david fosters running verve-- and now don was is head of Blue Note--- david foster. don was......i can totally call the next president of World Pacific........
  11. theres a lot of margins of error in something like this, 1st of all it is about CD sales, and thus they are concluding from that- jazz is least popular genre in US..... .....jazz is believe it or not, a genre of music primarily intended for vinyl format, so most ppl who really like jazz, arent buying cds anyway. jazz isnt the least popular genre, all u can conclude is that jazz cd sales are in the toilet, but all cd sales are in the toilet...
  12. definetly never seen this one before well i just won a copy of this...
  13. thats pretty good pauls doin the keys for them its always awesome when guests mix it up w/ the mbrs of the house band--- + its one of the last episodes so its extra historic
  14. definitely my #2 favorite Freddie album behind Goin' Up. "Sunshine Lady" should of been a huge single, i have no idea what happened. liberty must of just sat on this. art pepper on sax. -just got this as japan 1st pressing Eastworld Toshiba EMI, to replace my Liberty
  15. ill freakin find my own hot stampers, thank u very much. its like any collecting, sure u can buy the $1,000 stamp, or u can hunt and find it in the wild
  16. again, this is so much better than the pac jazz orig. ive not found too many uk or european versions like this but i have a few and theyre all amazing. i have this esquire or something pressing of Paul Chambers delegation from the east on JazzWest-- it sounds better most originals. its all in the quality of the vinyl, and the covers look way better too as well. i have lots of these in rock/pop, but not in jazz. the only drawback is they are not as indestructible like the US versions, i cant just plop them in one of my many record piles. they vinyl is fragile as glass on some of them, i have them in a special area
  17. The Champs- Tequila (Challenge)
  18. from JHR's last list perhaps? Did anyone pick up the Alan Skidmore? i bet it sounds so much better than the impluse....
  19. i would of bought that
  20. i wonder how coltrane got in on this one, him at donald byrd recorded a lot that yr, rt? (this was rec 12/57). it seems to be a good sounding recording, i like the sound of blakeys cymbals on this (stereo Bethlehem, blue label) really weird though, its like an art blakey solo project, away from the jazz mesgrs. now i have to get that blue note art blakey big band lp. that ones going to be hard to find. isnt there a liberty reissue of that? might have that one.....
  21. i really dug the last brubeck concert i ever saw, actually the performance was insane i was few ft away from behind the piano and saw it all. one of the songs was i kid not flat-out funk. it was the last time of my brubeck concert experiences
  22. thats wild to see a crown record, on cd..... DOES THE CD COME LOOSE IN THE JEWEL BOX WITHOUT THE BLACK PLASTIC TRAY???
