  1. its the real deal. the horace band photo set is astonishing. 500 gets that
  2. im just kinda amazed and happy that theyre reissuing all this stuff at all, let alone on vinyl, in 2014. today i saw a new lp reissue of donald byrd- KOFI, but it was manufactured in the EU, and i have a bad feeling its from a DAT source, so i passed. these us bn offical reissues will be better than whats already out there, perhaps. i think a lot of it has to do w/ access to tapes. there is a reason why lee morgan- charisma or blue mitchell- heads up are not pulled from the vault as often, but i really dont know why. it is not easy to get certain tapes, when others have been checked out many times
  3. Flora Purim- thats what she said (MILESTONE) 1978
  4. i at least want a full demo. how does it compare w/ sacd. is it going beyond what that format did? is it going to sound better than Victor Feldman- Secret Of The Andes original cd already sounds?
  5. u know it. roy looks great!
  6. 1988 US polydor promo copy, this album isnt just a little good, its a LOT good, absolutely incredible work
  7. this dippin 45 rpm set is fantastic. recado bossa nova is on, the difference is staggering.

  12. its amazing to me how i think i have a big jazz lp collection, but by reading this thread i see dozens after dozens of lps i not only do not have, but never knew existed....
  13. wow, cant wait to see more releases like this in the future....
  14. dawg theres no way that herbies gonna best be remembered as miles's sideman, he is way to big as a solo name for that. just listen to his name: Herbie Hancock. everyone knows that, even outside of people who know jazz. but if he -was- gonna be remembered for one of his sideman gigs, it'd probably be CORNBREAD. the 1st time i met herbie i told him how awesome he was on that....
  15. Charisma is my AAA#1 favorite
  16. just got this 4-lp set: Englishtown NJ summer 77. this show was later released as dicks picks 15, but the analog lps of the radio b'cast version really has a great sound to it, it gives it just a touch of that "AM Radio"-feel to it all, which i love. some of the listings for it says it was ltd to 500 copies.....if true its like the BN 1568 of dead boots, lol!
  17. i havent compared them but thats my go-to copy still for this album. the bn 45rpm series really makes you think about what are *really*, your favorite bn albums, + for me i never quite went for the xrcd or 45rpm issue for this title. Lee Morgan Charisma would be my #1 dream pick...
  18. i found this solo piano mal waldron lp on Paula Records, 1973--- mal waldron on steinway dawg is yrs the gold label prestige issue! the label looks great on this one
