I liked that one better, she reminds me a bit of the young energetic asian who made funny videos about what to do on a date. -
Agreed with your points Jim, generally a group is death usually implies that a well regarded team might not be able to qualfy, which i don't think is the case here, i do agree that the fight for what should be the second spot will be strongly contested in this group. Amusing thing playing around with the ratings. The tightest level of competition between the second seeded teams and the last one belongs to the group D GROUP D (21.00) Germany (6) Australia (21) Ghana (37) Serbia (20) Only 17 ranks are separating the second sseeded team of Serbia from the lowest ranked team of Ghana. I know, way too much in my hands

According to this blog page, the toughest group by average rankings is group H (it has three top-20 teams). Proof #563543 that Fifa rankings are shite, maybe they'll prove me wrong during the competition but ain't no way Chile and Switzerland belong yet in the 20 top teams in the world. Also the methodology is far from perfect even if we take to face value those rankings. The group H rates better mostly because of a strong 4th wheel. If you take the three top teams than it shifts in favour of the group G. All international ranking referees know the major insults in ten languages, it's chapter 2 of Fifa training. Not sure which is more fun learning the course or teaching it ?

I went and looked at the FIFA rankings and I have to agree: Group B looks tough. So you agree with yourself. That's good. It's not as easy as it seems

Sure seems great to be a sports fan in Spain nowadays

Had this problem, maybe we should make this thread a sticky or create a special thread that will give tips like these when the board is screwing up.

A pretty well balanced draw, no group really deserves the group of death label. For the sake of picking one would say the G group, the A group is competitive but has no powerhouses who could be eliminated from the first tour. If you had to pick 16 teams to go through the second tour before the draw just guessing on team level, except for maybe Mexico don't think any of the 3 other teams would have earned many votes. The G group has a favourite who has a few tricky challenges to qualify and three tough teams who will fight tooth and nail to stay alive and maybe upset Brazil. On the other of the spectrum, the Spanish seems to have an easy draw, my favourite enemy Porcy will be able to relax with an easy draw for la Squadra Azzura. The most intriguing group might be the B group, plenty of different playing styles plus up and down performances over the last few competitions might make for an exciting and unpredictable fight for the two spots.

According to her site, she made some tv appearances, no wonder i don't watch much of the tube nowadays, especially with the rule preventing any wardrobe malfunction http://www.hotforwords.com/ -

Gotta say i'm in a good and magnanimous mood after seeing our CFL team win the Grey Team in one of the wildest fashion you could ever imagine. For those who don't read G A Russell's CFL thread after trailing troughout the game our team made a come back and had a chance to win with a field goal with no time remaining. the field goal was kicked wide , unfortunately for our opponents a flag was thrown because the defensive team fput too many men on the field, the kick was replayed and the rest is history... -

Aggie made his picks either on the CBS site or on our board well prior to the games started, that's all that matters, the idea of the game is to incite more people to play, so they are enough bad players that will finish below me. -
Made a few comments in the contest thread, all i can add here is there is something ironic in the fact that the Rough Riders sell t-shirts caled the 13th man. Think they will do something different next year.

CONTEST: 2009 Grey Cup game
Van Basten II replied to GA Russell's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
What a wild ending. For Montreal fans it will be shades of the 79 semi-final in the NHL when the Habs won it because the Bruins had a penality for too many men on the ice which led to a power play that allowed Montreal to tie the game and send it to overtime and win it. I do feel bad for the Saskatchewan team and their fans, but it is a bit bush league to lose in such fashion. This blunder goes with Chris Webber calling a time out when he did not have one during the NCAA final. Not much of a CFL fan but as disastrous 2009 was for Montreal, it is great to see those "little sports team" like the Als and the Impact winning championships and bringing some relief to the city. Guess there is hope for the team that the whole city revolves around. -
At least your first reply won't be a ECM bashing session Regaring Mojo, i've stopped reading the mag a few years ago, because how many times can you read a story about the usual suspects (Beatles, Who, Led Zep etc.) after a while it grew tiresome, it may disorient some "grey hairs" but it might be a good thing that they cover more contemporary bands. Then again, i would have to check it out to know who they're talking about and i barely have the time. Regarding the top ten, they are 3 titles that would fit in mine Jarrett, Wheeler and the Holland. I do enjoy Brahem although including it in a top ten seems a stretch at least for my own taste. Considering the crowd that the readership of Mojo is mostly composed suprised not seeing a Metheny make his way in the list or the Garbarek with the Hilliard ensemble make his way, no Rypdal either. Don't have the time to do one but if i did it would probably include a Trovesi, Sylvie Couvoisierr's Abaton and some Sclavis, but as you said it tells how much the label has widened his horizons than the ECM bashers have given them credit for

In the UK, they tend to go to the side of caution, as soon as the guy is unable to defend himself they do stop the fight, anyway i want a rematch. Absolutely no relation with my previous offering. Warning, may not be safe for work.
