  2. Great win for Les Bleus , we were very good especially in the second half, if Gourcuff and Gignac would not have been so hapless we would have a relazing second leg game. A bit pissed off, that i won't get to see the second game.
  3. Sports day for yours truly. World Cup Playoff as i am watching Greece-Ukraine which will be followed by France-Ireland and later this evening PPV boxing featuring Pacqiao-Cotto.

  9. Read this Camus when i was in high school, the subject and the tone is rather bleak, so reading itself is a bit of a challenge, so imagine reading it in a language which is not our first one , don't remember if the level of language could be troublesome. A guy that is worth reading in his original form is Boris Vian. So far , i read about 60 pages of the Wolfe, i enjoy his way of writing details about the way of thinking of his characters, the tone is not completely smirky, just enough to have a laugh at them while still making you want to know more about them.
  10. 11. He was one those subtle guys that you'd only notice when he was missing
  12. Wonderful book! Supposed to an eighties novel, but I think it's great reading for any time. Did you read it in French translation or the English original? I try as much as possible to read books in their original language, and Wolfe's level of language is rather easy so there is no problem understanding it, the writer i had the toughest time is probably Thomas Pynchon, he is way beyond my league, never dared touched James Joyce for the same reasons
  13. +1
  14. Sounds painful just reading it, get well mate.

  20. A bit disappointed, thought that Evan Parker had joined the board
  21. Following a recommendation from this board plus finding Italian cds at a cheap price, bought this from Jazz Loft. Raido 3 Sessions - Domino Quartet (Auand) A Small Madness - David Binney / Jeff Hirshfield (Auand) Beauty is a Rare Thing - Giancarlo Tossani (Auand) Coherent Deformation - Giancarlo Tossani (Auand) Virus - Francesco Bearzatti (Auand) Trio 3 + Geri Allen: At This Time - Andrew Cyrille / Oliver Lake / Reggie Workman (Intakt )
  22. There was a discussion about the label which was praised but no specific recommendations, however going through the whole search using Auand i saw a recommendation by our own Bill Barton regarding the Domino Quartet. Good things were said about the David Binney, who is probably of my favourite current musician, duo with Jeff Hirshfield. For the rest, well it's up to your tastes.
  23. Great work Neveronfriday
  24. Jazz Loft is offering at very low prices a series of recordings from the label Auand, not very familiar with this label, although they are certain names that i am, Binney, Petrella, Battaglia, any recommendations ? Gotta say some look very tempting. http://www.jazzloft.com/d-4463-Auand.aspx
