  3. Me, I listen to what I want to listen to at any given time, and don't much worry about what proporton of the reason is "nostalgia" and what proportion is "quality" (surely both are involved in many ways, as are many other factors at other times, like "trendiness"). If I'm enjoying it, I'm enjoying it. It's my collection, my time, my enjoyment. Bit of a silly argument overall to me, and pretty elitist/snobby. Nostalgia is ok until it stops economically to develop current music, the popular music scene here is invaded by young singer and artist , talking about fm radio, doing (quite often very bad) covers of songs done in the 60s and the 70s , if you add the mix of real retro songs put in the mix, there is little time to give airplay to new songs created today. But on a personnal basis there is nothing wrong with it.
  4. Think the best way to experience Parker is live , although i remember a recorded duo he did with Stan Tracey that someone put in the blindfold test that was quite tasty

  6. Enjoy the easy way we can access the music, good work. I'm clueless about guessing who's playing, so i won't be much of a contributor except saying if i enjoy the piece or not. Like the percussion work on track 2, digging very much the third piece thank you, wished it was longer though. The track 4 develops and ends in a quite frantic and exciting way.
  7. If a female member wants to have a half naked hunk in their signature, i would have no problem with it

  9. Not a bad game, feared for Sevilla when Real put it even after another near goal for the home side, but the men in white never lost their composure despite Casillas heroïcs and managed a big win against the men traditionally dressed in white. My futbol tripleheader will end with a game in a smaller scale as my local Montreal Impact goes to Porto Rico for the second leg of the semi-final in the USL.
  10. Real Madrid can thank whatever divine entity that they beleive in that the score at the half is only 1-0 , Sevilla has dominated them so far.
  11. The most enjoying thing about the Chelsea-Liverpool game was the Fela cd i was playing at the same time. Not exactly a riveting game considering how good this game looked on paper but a good clinical win by the men in blue.
  12. Both guys were held at the customs and for a while it look they wouldn't make it. Gig started quite late, so i only could attend the first set. For the little i heard, enjoyed the fusion and blending of the music of both men. Wish i heard more.

  15. Saw two entertaining games Arsenal against Olympiakos, great amazing heroïc game by the former national team keeper but at the end the good guys won The second part of the doubleheader was Barcelona against Dynamo Kyev. If the host had an hard time finding the back of the net, for the rest they gave a beautiful futbol clinic. Will be busy tomorrow night (see my post in the gig watching thread), so won't get to watch Bayern and Juventus or the MU-Wolfsburg game
  16. Evan Parker and Ned Rothenberg tomorrow night.

  19. Sorry; the American one. Ah. For years I avoided the American version (even though I'm a fan of Steve Carell) then a couple of years ago we were at the in-laws' for Thanksgiving or something and some channel was having an Office marathon. I watched five or six of them in a row and became a big fan of the show. A different "vibe" from the British original, to be sure, but I like it. The US one is a bit too sitcommish to my liking, but in a way they were smart to do their own thing instead of trying to replicate the original. We had a local version of the show with the boss character trying to imitate Ricky Gervais and it was awful.

  22. Watched the second leg to see my local team qualifying for the semis, they played great, tough task ahead facing Porto-Rico. Sooner today watched Friday night fights from Sky Sports and also the fight between Vitali Klitschko and Chris Arreola one word regarding the latter , mismatch.
