It's really no different than buying a greatest hits comp. I guess it could be a generational thing, but myself and the few others I know that stream all listen to full albums at least 95% of the time. Also, Pandora plays a bunch of artists similar to the one you initially choose. So that's really a whole different animal.
-
Odd,that you’d think that. Streaming an entire album is far easier. Creating customized playlists on streaming platforms is almost as big a pain in the ass as dojng the same using physical media.
-
Unless it were sent to me straight from a musician, I wouldn’t order/purchase one. Though I guess the lone exception would be for something that is OOP that the company agreed to seend me a copy of.

That's some serious piracy shit, Allen! Especially if they're using low bitrate mp3's!

Hmmmm...I don't recall that one. Though in fairness the story Valerie told in that thread I swore came from Chris when you asked about it earlier. So my memory certainly isn't the best on this subject.
-
Chris never gave details, but Valerie did.

Well, let’s calm down with that part. She’s obviously distraught, but that doesn’t mean she’s batshit. Her missive should have been intercepted by someone thinking more rationally, but it wasn’t. So we saw an emotional lashing out. As embarrassing as it was, I’m not sure any of us wouldn’t have made a similar plea were we in her position.

Um...ok... So there have been proven cases of wrongful prosecution. This automatically means her husband is not guilty. Let's also not forget that he's black. Exasperation and desperation. I get it. Regardless, that should have never been published. It comes across as nothing less than a lucid variation of drunk texting at 2am.

Same for the Hank Mobley Quartet album on iTunes. I wonder if there is some kind of exclusive physical release license for the bonus tracks. ?
-
Those prices are actually right in line with market value. The McCoy Tyner album is $.50 cheaper there than it is on iTunes, for example.
-
Kinda. I remember the first time I listened to Strawberry Fields all the way through on the right channel, and then all the way through on the left channel. Pretty amazing how it seemed like two completely different tunes.

I agree. Mono switches have to be the most missed feature of modern stereo amps.
-
That's because they spent almost all of their time on the mono mixes back then as stereo still hadn't become the norm in the U.K. In the liner notes for the Sgt. Pepper's box it essentially said they wrapped the mono mix sessions and were barely around for the stereo mix.
-
Reminds me of some of the early Beatles stereo mixes. Though in fairness they worked well enough. When the Sgt. Pepper remix came out last year, it did kinda show how bad the original mixes were. Though the music was so experimental that it sounded "right".

You posted the same exact story as the OP. -
Yeah, man. She just doesn’t feel it, you know. She plays notes, right? But she doesn’t play them based on my own personal set of rules, you know? So I’m going to bag on her and try like hell to not make it come across as sexist in anyway, you dig?

I can’t wait to tune in tomorrow to see how much worse this lady will be shit upon! She’s obviously having fun and doing what she likes. So why not just shut the fuck up, seven pages later, and let her do her thing?

The last time we hit $4.20 a gallon here was when I dumped my HEMI Charger and the 14mpg my heavy right foot had restricted it to. I had no intention of getting a Prius because I wasn’t willing to give up THAT much power. Oddly enough, about a year later a co-worker needed me to drive her up to the dealership to pickup her husbands car. She had a Prius and had me drive it back from the dealer. I was actually blown away by two facts completely unknown to me: 1. Those suckers are FAR, FAR roomier inside than they look from the outside. 2. They may not have a HEMI or turbo under the hood, but they are FAR, FAR from being slow! I gained a whole new perspective and respect for the Prius that day. Although the little joystick thing is still really weird to me. Though my son just bought a used Chrysler 200, and you turn a dial to shift it into gear. Bizarre.
