  2. I thought this session was a big mismatch. Yeah, Baker sticks out like a sore thumb.
  3. "Rather off the mark"? How about completely pathetic and insulting. I've seen one movie I enjoyed, an adaptation of Hound (which I can't seem to locate on the net to show which one I mean!), which, though flawed, at least portrayed Watson as intelligent. I like the way Watson is portrayed in the 1958 Hammer Films version of The Hound Of The Baskervilles. Peter Cushing is great as Holmes.
  4. All is needed to know was this film was being made by the guy that did 300...that was enough reason for me to avoid it.
  5. Wow. That was fast. Surprisingly so. I feel sorry for the Bills, they've got enough problems as it is.
  6. I have a feeling Owens won't make a roster...until somebody's starting receiver gets injured in training camp...then all of a sudden he'll be a valuable commodity.
  7. *Programming Alert* Ice Station Zebra on TCM at 11:15pm (eastern). Patrick McGoohan, Ernest Borgnine, Rock Hudson, Jim Brown.
  8. You'll find TONS of information right here: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php?showforum=33
  9. That sounds like me.
  10. Well, some holes to fill is better than having a roster full of a-holes.
  11. Personally, I think this is some of the most satisfying and consistently excellent straight-ahead jazz from this era. The arrangements are always top notch and that's quite a talent roster! Check out the discography page.
  12. more Star Trek: TNG
  13. I watched 4 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation back to back...then wished they would play more. Been a long time since I saw those.
  14. When I was 4 years old my favorite song was "Tie a yellow ribbon"...does that count? If I heard it now I'd shoot someone.
  15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! YOU DA MAN!!!
  16. Up. Yep, this album is every bit as kick-ass as I remembered. Stanley was havin' a GOOD TIME!
  17. Well, I have a one day gig tomorrow in San Antonio doing one of the Chase branch closures. There is a good chance more of these assignments will be available next week (and hopefully here in Austin). But, beggars can't be choosers so it's a 70 mile commute tomorrow morning. Better than nothing.
  18. I saw that, odd film...she is good in it. But again, odd film.
  19. This clip is from one of those "Actor's Studio" shows, even though Kate tends to do mostly dramas, she's very funny.
  20. Regarding tonight's Oscars, there are a couple people I'm very happy for: Kate Winslet - ABOUT DAMN TIME that she gets the official recognition she's deserved for many years. This year she gave two performances that were Oscar worthy...and I've never seen her give anything less than EVERYTHING in her performances (Enigma, Little Children, Sense & Sensibility, Jude, etc, etc), she's simply one of the most fearless actresses of her generation. Danny Boyle - Even though I haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire yet (which I intend to remedy), I've been a fan of his for quite some time, a director that seems to be successful in every genre he touches. 28 Days Later & Sunshine are two of my favorite films of the past several years...and because one was horror and the other was sci-fi, there was no chance he would get any recognition for them. For a film that was once doomed to go direct to DVD, I think his triumph is well deserved.
  21. Every year the Oscars seem to get worse, I keep watching anyway...have been since the late 70's.
  22. Yes, it's in print as well. http://www.amazon.com/Gene-Harris-Trio-Plu...1019&sr=8-1
