  1. I don't think there ever was a booklet with it. I've made up my own discography for it if anyone wants one. Perhaps not, though there is a bit of extra space in the box that looks like it might have held a booklet. My set has a 32 page booklet with notes by Alun Morgan + disco Wow! Any chance you could scan it for me?
  2. I don't think there ever was a booklet with it. I've made up my own discography for it if anyone wants one.
  3. I use "Milestones". (I used to use Kate and Anna McGarrigle's "Kiss and Say Goodbye" which begins "Call me if you're coming to town" but I always thought I was hearing it from a radio. For some reason that doesn't happen with Milestones.)
  4. Great! Thanks for posting this.
  5. You can download it for $1.99 from Amazon today.
  6. Thanks for the heads up. I just downloaded the Beach Boys.
  7. Today they're offering a Sonny Rollins concert from '75 at a discount price. (And a Levon Helm concert that sounds pretty great.)
  8. IIRC he made a deal about not getting co-leader royalties for the Lp.
  9. Buster Keaton: Sherlock Jr.
  10. Yes, and I think the two Treasury Shows are amongst the best.
  11. I saw him playing acoustic stand-up bass with the Mike Gibbs band once.
  12. No Sonny? Ya gotta have Mr. Badass! Well I've got him with Dizzy & Stan and with Art Pepper but none as a leader.
  13. Bushwick is becoming an extension of Williamsburg; I have several hip young coworkers who live there. You're right. My son lives there.
  14. You guys convinced me. To be honest I don't have any other Sonny Stitt. I just ordered it but I'm running out of shelf space. (One of the reasons I'm now downloading music more than I'm buying cds. )
  15. I thought Happy Gilmore was really funny. But then I'm Canadian and it is about hockey (sort-of).
  16. The record is called Banga. According to Smith "Tarkovsky- a response to the film Ivan's Childhood- (is) improvised over a theme by Sun Ra." Gotta give her kudos for listing Ra as co-composer. The song is subtitled "The 2nd stop is Jupiter". BTW Good record if you like Patti Smith and I do.
  17. I use it. Mainly because books are often cheaper from Amazon than from Apple.
  18. I used to say Pauline Kael told people what to think, Andrew Sarris told them how to think. I did a radio show with him once and was surprised how mild mannered he was. In print he was ferocious, in person he was sweet and gentle.
  19. I think I had a protected childhood. I just don't remembered bullying or being bullied. I didn't even understand the film Dazed and Confused with the plot about hazing. Sometimes I think it's just an American thing but I'm sure it it happens in Canada too. And I don't think too much self esteem has anything to do with it. I expect it's the opposite. People get treated like shit by their parents or teachers and they think that's how you're supposed to act.
  20. Good idea. And I even figured out how to do it. Thanks.
  21. I just got an e-mail from a friend recommending three videos of Bud Powell in Europe which he found on the following site: Help keep Jazz on the Tube going Tell your friends about us... http://www.JazzontheTube.com I just subscribed but it looks good. And speaking of jazz on the tube did anyone besides me look up the 2 videos recommended in the Mosaic Hawk booklet? They're pretty great. And finally: Should there be a forum for video? If not, which forum should we use when we find interesting videos?
