  1. As far as I know, RVG only remastered the Mingus/Candid and De Franko/Clark(?) sets. The liner notes say he did the Hodges/51-55 but he did not. Of course, he did the original recording of most of the sets.

  3. Interesting....Good old Sony is up to their old tricks. Unbelievable!!! Are they afraid audiophile LP's will hurt their Dylan SACD sales? SACD is Sony's baby and from what I hear they are loosing $$$ bigtime. I really do not think they are considering getting back into vinyl all the way. They did some some pretty bad things to get CD's in the stores 20 years ago. Here we go again with the SACD. Try a few of the Sundazed mono Dylan's. I likes 'em.
  4. Great comments. I remember when I bougt this one. Only 10 years ago. Took a break from Disneyland and found a used record shop. Had they had other LP's I wanted I probably wouldn't have bought this one. The other one I bought was Shelly Manne/At The Manne Hole(2 LP)mono. Jones' drumming sure sets this one apart in my eyes. It seems so different and of course it is. This is one I also play to relax, but it keeps my interest. It's behind "Feelin' The Spirit" in my relaxing line-up.
  5. I'm still in the B's.
  6. Get out the cc!! $$$$$ I wish Toshiba-EMI would crank oit the Blue Note 10 inchers again!!
  7. Thanks....finding a few things. OJC's at $6 ain't bad. Just need to find 15-20 I want.
  8. Beatles and Stones have never received proper re-issue treatment. I do like like the sound of recent(last 10 years) Stones releases. The AC/DC re-issue series is all analog if they do it for you.

    Vinyl re-issue

Should be another great one from Classic Records. I have "I've Got The World On A String", which I play often. 200 gram/$33
  10. The Music Hall MMF-2 can be had for $270 and that includes cartridge.
  11. What's your budget for the turntable??
  12. Thanks for the info. It looks like they (New York label) are out there, but rare and in a Liberty era jacket. I think there are a few others like this. Brownie, nice post. You can still remember details on what you bought in '67.
  13. This is for record collecting purposes. I can't recall seeing a New York pressing of this lp(BLP 4218), just Liberty's. Was this released later like: Andrew! and The Gigolo? My Goldmine says it was released as a New York pressing. Thanks!!
  14. Original, as new vinyl copy of Blakey/Indestructible! with the back cover upside down.
  15. I've done/do what the two posters above mentioned and I do "disk cleanup"(XP) now and then.
  16. Acually I think it is legit. I installed free ZoneAlarm and have not seen it since. Microsooft recommended ZoneAlarm as opposed to disabling messenger.
  17. What do you know, a record that's in my rotation. Recorded 'hot', the music jumps out of the speakers. It sure does not sound like a quartet. I think it's Green's guitar that sounds like a small horn section on some songs.
  18. Great, thanks. I guess he his remastering Lush Life for Acoustic Sounds 45rpm LP's. I have the DCC he did. How about this comment? "Yes, we are trying to figure out what the hell is happening to the cutting amps. Stan figured that Van Gelder sabotaged his tapes so that no one else could cut them but him, heh" Ricker's work on the Blue Note mono titles is great. I guess he learned something. I'd like to see Hoffman do some.

    A request:

    My favorite another uno mas
  20. Another ebay bargain.
  21. Yep, the Vanguard sessions are great. I'm glued to my seat, slack jawed whenever I play these. The tone here is so unique. How about his take on "Over the Rainbow" from Ballads by Four/Galaxy? Worth a listen.
  22. Sitting on the can too long gives me hemroids, so I do not read anything.
  23. How many titles were issued in this format? BTW, I have zero. How about reel to reel next?
