The jazz concerts this year that I really enjoyed were:
Marc Ribot (solo)--Kessler Theater, Dallas.
Gary Burton Quartet--Blue Note
Jack Walrath and the Masters of Suspense--Smalls
Alvin Queen Sextet (with Leon Spencer and Melvin Sparks)--Jazz Standard
Wayne Horvitz with the New York Jazz Composer's Orchestra (with Bobby Previte and Marty Ehrlich)--University of the Streets
Jimmy Greene Quartet--Smalls
Ben Allison Trio--Kush
Edmar Castaneda--55 Bar
Buika--Winspear Opera House, Dallas
Ornette Coleman Quartet--Bass Hall, Austin.
The Atco CD didn't do much for me. In addition to the essential Specialty recordings, there are a few additional worthwhile tracks on the Classics Guitar Slim CD.

Stan Kenton--A Presentation of Progressive Jazz (Capitol ten inch)
Sonny Criss--Crisscraft (Muse)
Pat Martino--We'll Be Together Again (Muse)
George Lewis--Jazz in the Classic New Orleans Tradtition (Riverside, blue label)
Sonny Stitt and Milt Jackson--Loose Walk (Palcoscenico)
I've heard a copy of the 1959 performance. It's outstanding--a group and material derived from Mingus Ah Um/Mingus Dynasty. That is, Richard Williams, Leo Wright, Booker Ervin, Roland Hanna and Dannie Richmond.
The Modern Jazz Quartet Plays Porgy and Bess (Atlantic, blue and green)
The Guitar Artistry of Charlie Byrd (Riverside, blue label)
Von Freeman--Doin' It Right Now (Atlantic, red and green)
The Bobby Previte "noir" group is at the Blue Note next month.

Blue Note Late Night [New York, NY]
BOBBY PREVITE AND THE NEW BUMP
I was lucky to hear the group there previously and it was rather good.
For something more recent in this style, I'd recommend Bobby Previte's Set the Alarm for Monday (with Bill Ware on vibes, Ellery Eskelin on tenor and Brad Jones on bass). On sale right here: http://www.bobbyprevite.com/shop.html
That happens every once in a while--a welcome change from the parade of damaged LPs at HPB. I have a copy Brubeck's Jazz Impressions of Japan with a sealed inner sleeve and a sealed Johnny Hodges/Wild Bill Davis Verve that I haven't opened yet--both found at HPB here in Dallas.
The two New York Jazz Collective releases on Naxos--I Don't Know This World Without Don Cherry, and Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven, are both good ones.
Link to Dallas Observer obituary, which refers to an unreleased Texas Tenors recording with Shelly Carroll.
