  1. *sigh* Yeah, those were some good times.
  2. Bumsha Swing? Bemsha Swing anagram: Man's web sigh
  3. Impressive comeback by the Texans to tie up the game! I thought they were done. Matt Schaub played a great second half. EDIT: Damn, too bad about that last int. I was hoping they'd pull it off.
  4. Haven't seen anything like that since the 1954 Cotton Bowl, when Tommy Lewis, who was on the Alabama bench, tackled SMU's Dickie Moegle as he was racing for a touchdown. (I actually only saw a video of that one, years after it happened.) Alosi should be fined and suspended, if not fired. Looks like this kind of thing is what happens when the Rex Ryan mentality takes over a team. It made me think of Woody Hayes slugging that Clemson player. A sad end to an otherwise great career.
  5. Anyone see the Jets assistant trip the Miami player? That wasn't very nice.
  6. Jets: more dropped balls than a retirement home.
  7. He's around.
  8. Sal totally kicks ass. Always. Great video!
  9. Damn, did you see the Metrodome collapse? Between that and the Giants' travel problems this game seems to be cursed. So they're going to play it in Detroit tomorrow night? Divine intervention on Favre's behalf? Although one more day is unlikely to change his status.
  10. "We serve hard drinks for men who want to get drunk fast". What's not to like about that??? All Hail Pottersville! I'll bet Nick's serve a wicked Long Island Tea. No way. That's a total wuss drink. Nick's was all about Whiskey and Scotch. Neat. Get with the program, FFA. :P:)

  12. James Brown/Oliver Nelson charts/Louis Bellson band. Very odd combination but dammit, I like it!
  13. Now watching It's a Wonderful Life for the gazillionth time. I'm sorry, there's no way that phono turntable had enough torque to also make the chicken rotisserie turn. This movie is ruined for me now. Plus, the "evil" Bedford Falls (aka Pottersville) is where all the clubs/gigs are. Also, the spinster/librarian Donna Reed is still pretty hot. Pottersville > Bedford Falls. Discuss.
  14. I have a few autographed CDs including Ed Thigpen's Out of the Storm and Mel Lewis' Soft Lights & Hot Music. Actually Maria Schneider got the latter for me when we were at the Vanguard to hear Mel's band.
  15. Coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooole!!!!!
  16. HBGOM! ....and many more.
  17. I think many college teams do play a 12-game schedule now. A shorter bowl season ending emphatically on Jan. 1 would be nice. One of my big complaints about the length of the current bowl season is the amount of downtime that precedes the championship game. Too much time for rust to set in as well as all the media distractions.
  18. Bye bye Urban Meyer
  19. Shirley you're not surprised by that.
  20. I forgot that series only went six episodes. Too bad. I loved the Quinn Martin-type opening with the guest star who gets killed during the opening credits. And the on-screen/narrated episode title that don't match. "Cigarette?" "Yes, it is."
  21. I'm a fan.
  22. I was hopefully clicking on the word "much" which I thought was a link to said deals......
