  1. About time this Giant gets the proper Mosaic treatment
  2. Dizzy Gillespie 'Complete Big Band Studio Sessions 1946-1960' (United Archives) CD3, the 1954 sessions!
  3. United Archives is a French label. They seem to have problems fixing up a regular website of their own. But they keep coming out with several boxes each year. I have a number of those (Shearing, Miles, Duke, Dizzy...) which are available here at very reasonable prizes. I like their sets!
  4. Earl Hines 'Once Upon a Time' Impulse, stereo)
  5. I have all those vinyls but will certainely purchase the FreshSound compilation from Pujol!
  6. This Weill fan is happy about the discovery. Would be even happier if/when discs of the Count Basie band appearances at the NY World Fair surface
  7. LieStrong now gets his dues, and it's only the beginning... NY Times story Next question: When will the International Cycling Union be prodecuted for covering up this disgraceful saga?
  8. Milt Jackson & John Coltrane 'Bags & Trane' (Atlantic Japan, stereo)
  9. Review with samples on NPR.
  10. Great! Will tune in!
  11. Billy Banks 'Billy Banks aénd His Rhythmakers' (CBS England) The glorious sides with Henry Allen, Pee Wee Russell, Joe Sullivan Fats Waller, Zutty Singleton, etc...
  12. Who is it? He has exactly the same hairstyle, moustache, and beard... No idea who it is! But Not Horace! No doubt about the next one:
  13. Another worthy one is gone His discography includes half a dozen albums on SoulNote. Maybe the label will reissue these in one of their excellent boxes!
  14. Is that from the same night that was broadcast on France Musique? No idea which broadcast you talking about. Half of 'Time Set' was recorded in New York. The other half was recorded in Paris on April 5 and May 24, 2006.
