I have very mixed feelings about the book. I do not think it is the right tribute to Leloir's talent.
It is badly edited. Some of Leloir's best photos are not there. I also was hoping to see some of his unpublished material.
That's not there.
A missed opportunity

French photographer Jean-Pierre Leloir who for the past six decades recorded images of jazz musicians on the Paris scene died Monday evening at his Paris home. The news was announced by his daughter.

I have never been happy with the sound of the Monk BN albums. Never heard the original Lexington release of 1511.
Best sound I heard from those Monk sessions were the Toshiba vinyls that came out in 1985.
The RVG CDs are not bad either!
Don't think FreshSound had access to the original masters, otherwise thet would have included more material in their Dauntless reissues.
But the sound I have heard on their reissues from that catalogue is excellent.
