  1. I posted about Monicelli's tragic end in the '****Return of the Film Corner****' thread earlier today. That was very sad news!
  2. Charles Mingus 'Mingus Ah Um' (Columbia, mono, six-eye)
  3. What a beautiful game that Barca-Real was Messi did not score but he was there as a total team player whose actions proved decisive for two of those five goals. What a team What a player
  4. Don't really care... as long as the threads continue! I love them The Miscellaneous Music is fine with me. Will go to a sub-forum if there is one!
  5. Steve Lacy 'Evidence' (New Jazz)
  6. A most enjoyable session and a showcase for Count Basie's piano talent! One thing I do not like about the CD reissue is the colorized version of the original album cover photo (by Norman Granz)!
  7. Shirley Scott 'Plays Horace Silver' (Prestige, stereo black/silver labels)
  8. The two tunes were 'The Preacher' and 'Senor Blues'. The Prestige (Fantasy) CD release was entitled 'Opus de Funk: The Jazz Giants play Horace Siver'. The full session does not seem to have made it to CD. A shame! Excellent album that I am enjoying right now!
  9. Not really sure this one does not fit better on the 'Album covers that would not exist w/o hairspray' thread...
  10. Frank Strozier 'What's Goin' On' (SteepleChase DirectCutting) with the front and back covers by Poul Agger
  11. Liked the Art Farmer version from the Columbia album 'Art Farmer Plays the Great Jazz Hits'! There was also an album by the Manhattan Jazz Quintet but I never listened to it!
  12. The Ray Draper Quintet 'featuring John Coltrane' (New Jazz)
  13. Excellent Wishing every one a great time, today and forever!
  14. Jack Teagarden Complete Roulette Sessions, disc 3
