  1. From World Radio Switzerland Swiss TV TSR report There should be interesting items to be viewed in these vaults...
  2. A very Happy Birthday to our Ghost
  3. Get well very soon, Aretha!
  4. Winter is a couple of weeks away but IT IS cold right now... The scene near Notre-Dame cathedral this afternoon: The Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport and the city's bus system have been closed
  5. There's also that recently released compilation on El Toro Records: Mobley is supposed to play on some of the tracks but I don't think he is heard!
  6. Don Lanphere 'Don Loves Midge' (Hep)
  7. EKE BBB is the real Tete Montoliu expert here! Lend a close ear to his recommendations when he comes in... Meanwhile here are a couple of favorites albums: the full 'The Music I Like to Play' (4 CDs) series on Soul Note, I like vol. 3 but the other three are really excellent too! Another favorite is (but there are so many more) this Timeless CD from an evening at Keystone Corner and another vote for the Montoliu-Hutcherson concert music. That's one that NEEDS to be released!
  8. I still have and cherish a number of BN Lexingtons (Miles, Bud, KD, Jazz Messengers, Herbie Nichols, Paul Chambers, etc...). Most of them in excellent condition! Still kick myself for having been overly generous and lending a number of vinyls (including Saxophone Colossus, Byrd Transition, Prestige Tranes...) when I was an Army conscript on my way to the Algerian war back then. Friends enjoyed the albums and failed to returned them when I came back home
  9. Charles Mingus 'The Complete Birdland Broadcasts' (RLR), disc 2
  10. You will be very sorry very soon when that box disappears! Yes, there is some overlap but the sound on the Mosaic is better and what's in the Mosaic box and not in the Columbia set represents a good chunk of must-have Basie/Lester masterpieces!
  11. Oliver Nelson 'Takin' Care of Business' (New Jazz, mono)
  12. Thought I had carefull reviewed the full thread before posting it Not carefully enough, obviously! Have not seen this one before...
  13. Dave Brubeck 'Jazz Impressions of Japan' (Columbia, stereo) A favorite DB album
  14. Dave Brubeck turns 90 today Glad to celebrate a remarkable career!
  15. Lineup on this Bill Cosby CD is interesting They play Sidewinder
  16. Hope this one shows up better than Bentsy's previous image
