  1. Lee Morgan 'The Sixth Sense' (BN Liberty, stereo)
  2. Happy Birthday, jazzbo Enjoy the dinner and the weekend! This place would not be the same without you
  3. I would say because the original was a composite photo which was probably a no-no by the time of the RVG reissue series.
  4. Purchased a number of those BN blue labels myself at the time and found not much to complain about as far as the audio was concerned
  5. ... and nr. 2 position in the French singles sales goes to TV entertainer Sebastien Cauet's 'Zidane Y Va Marquer' which went on sale a few days before the France-Italy final match of the World Cup! The producers of 'Coup de Boule' made a copy of the Cauet song and changed the words of the tune!
  6. Benny Carter 'The Gentleman of Jazz 1940-1941' (Merritt)
  7. One of my favorite Murray LPs! Yeah, that Murray band was pretty wild. Was lucky to hear them live quite a number of times. Sonny Murray live is a total experience! I'd have given my first-born to see that band live. Wow! The concerts/gigs situation in Paris at the time was really a problem You just could not keep up with the record number of opportunities to listen to people like Sonny Murray, the full AEC, Marion Brown, Archie Shepp, Anthony Braxton, Cecil Taylor and many more all showing up in these parts practically at the same time... Glad I attended as many as I could!
  8. Sorry to hear this. Rufus Harley was really one of a kind. Heard him last year when he played in Paris in the second part of a concert by Byard Lancaster. What seems to be his last record 'Sustain' on the PhillyJazz label is a wonderful swinging date fromp a quite unique musician!
  9. I am curious to see what Dan's been preparing in his kitchen! Can I have a taste? Slow mail will do. Don't expect too many comments! PM coming!
  10. Roscoe Mitchell Quartet (Sackville) live 1975 Toronto concert with Muhal Richard Abrams, George Lewis and Spencer Barefield
  11. Volume 1 of the Commodore boxes sold for $207 when it was released. It sold out very quickly!
  12. Trouble is, the needle skips every time it goes over a bump. MG 'cause it's not a Deep Groove
  13. That Stitt looks tempting... Stayed out of it because I have many of the included recordings. Giving that Mosaic set some serious second thoughts!
  14. A real beggars' banquet From AccountancyAge...
  15. James Moody 'Don't Look Away Now! (Prestige) with Barry Harris, Bob Cranshaw, Alan Dawson
  16. Pax is very much needed these days! Joe's in top form on this one. Hill's music brought the best in him!
  17. Where's Wolff?? Now that we need him for help on this He would know...
  18. Seen on eBay: The RVG BN 63rd St. T-shirt
  19. One of my favorite Murray LPs! Yeah, that Murray band was pretty wild. Was lucky to hear them live quite a number of times. Sonny Murray live is a total experience!
  20. Brad, good luck with your Bird's Eyes set. Just in case you do not manage to sell the lot, I'ld be interested in purchasing some individual CDs I'm missing from the series (20, 22, 23).
  21. Sunny Murray 'Big Chief' (Pathé) with Bernard Vitet, Ken Terroade, François Tusques, Beb Guerin, Alan Silva, etc...
  22. I'ld get real worried if a cop asked me the same question
  23. Others are lost without Jazzmatazz... http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...2&hl=jazzmatazz Can't help with the Horace Silver release. I get this type of informations from Jazzmatazz
