  1. I didn't think about Columbia because you would expect that their first move was to inquire about whether he was under contract still.
  2. I've previously been curious about the Dickenson in the past perhaps It will be more in the front of my mind again ...
  3. So where's your money? Is it the custodian making legal claims or how about the high school? Does a venue have rights that must be cleared especially if it was recorded using their equipment? Either way it will suck if this disappears permanently but it's not like we don't have a ton of live recordings from this band.
  4. And how does your mind handle camera angles that go: empty - empty - empty - oh look pretend people behaving as if they are watching a football game, not a baseball hurtling at them - empty empty empty?
  5. This one is so confusing ... Pitney Bowes suddenly updated their tracking on the 20th and showed it in Indiana again, not Plant City. Since then I've been checking the USPS tracking and they have continuously shown that they are waiting for the item, for six days now. So I decided to go back to Pitney Bowes and they show that they still have it and it is in Atlanta. I found a third party tracking website which predicts delivery to the Post Office between the 26th and the 29th - we can only hope.
  6. Saw parts of the Fox Cub broadcast yesterday and "sim people" was even worse than I feared. Sometimes they are there sometimes they aren't? And since they are FAKE PEOPLE why not put them in all rows? Those lucky fuckers don't have to keep their distance. Stupid, stupid, stupid. And if you pop on the fake people for home run balls, why do they disappear on the replay? The ESPN broadcast on Friday, with silence, was 100% better.
  7. He was definitely a slacker because you're stamp is faint while mine is A) very dark and B) non-existent.
  8. Do you ever notice the decaying sound problem? That was the first thing I noticed when declicking purely by hand which pre-dated the inclusion of algorithms for automatic removal. I've noticed the potential for time flow issues but if its practically a jump on the record, how can you fix it anyway? I just try to delete as little as possible. Here's another trick that may be somewhat incidental to my rig: I sometimes get clicks that are literally absent on one channel. If I can I copy that channel and replace the one with the noises. Turns it mono for just a blip.
  9. It will, if it never sees the light of day in the end. Remember, its over two years now since the Arnett Cobb/Don Wilkerson recording made the news. Is that out yet? Nope. And the contact I had at the Houston paper has stopped updating me - there may be a hope for it to come out on Resonance or the Zev/Cory Weeds label but it appears the family was not ready to follow thru with the release. And in fact I just discovered that the single they issued as a download is gone from Amazon. So until its out, there's no guarantee.
  10. How do you declick Allen? By isolating the sound in the wav form and deleting? What I find tricky is that pops decay over the sound wave - the wav form that is clearly a "pop" can be isolated and deleted but then there is a trailing noise over the adjoining music that you can't even see on the wav form. I have to go out beyond the deformity in the wav to avoid the ghostly trailing decay of the sound. Some music has to be lost but when you are talking about less than 1/10th of a second you can't perceive it. Also tricky is removing ticks/pops in the middle of a vibrato-laden section as here the removal can create what sounds like a "jump" in the sound. Then I sometimes manipulate the level of the pop to minimize its prominence. Or just learn to live with it. I am not clear how different frequency bands are de-noised without still using some sort of algorithm that recognizes the sound of crackle and reduces it.
  11. I only ordered CD. I am guessing just a release date delay though why I have no idea unless pressing plants are not operational in the current situation. They really pushed it back which is disappointing.
  12. If it becomes the new normal, I'm out. Fuck a system where the 8th best team can be league champion and possibly World champions.
  13. I have to admit I did not know the name "unipak" (though have certainly owned a few) and I have definitely never seen a unipak BN anywhere, ever. But then again for the list above if they had CD releases I almost certainly skipped right over them in the bin.
  14. Well new delivery date per Amazon email is January 5 2021.
  15. It was a month between the studio and live dates. That would be time enough to listen and choose "master takes" then after hearing the tapes from Birdland saying "forget this let's just put out the live date". I don't know that he hated it from the start or he would have sent everyone home right? But its not surprising to have him change the notations to "rejected" after the live sets.
  16. If you are actually asking what the specs are on the best version, try listening to that one and compare to each of the others. That's the only way. And it took me about 90 seconds to conclude that "Julia" and #8 are the same.
  17. Seriously this still isn't clear? The one with just the name. #1 on each page.
  18. I thought it was pretty clear that the one with the song title only is judged the best and the others are for reference, or to taste.
  19. Just watched the Fox promo. Horrible. I am more inclined not to watch at all now.
  20. So Betts got huge $$s from LA all the way thru to his age 39 season. Its simply infuriating that John Henry wouldn't pay to keep him in a Red Sox uniform but if the Dodgers are committed to this kind of spending at least we don't see him in a Yankee uniform and if he tortures the Yankees in a few post-seasons I won't complain at all. Just wish the Cubs could shovel the money at him and be that dominant team in the NL.
  21. Well to be clear those three days to go from Miami Airport to Opa Locka was after clearing customs. So its all the USPS ... a little credit - since then it showed up at the local PO yesterday and it was worth the wait, if not the actual price paid.
  22. ClickRepair isn't bad but must be used very carefully. It can leave artifacts. But you can customize the aggressiveness of the software on a scale of 0 to 100 for both click removal and for hiss removal. Personally when I transfer vinyl I prefer to drill down into the wav form and manually delete pops/clicks. This of course can take forever if the vinyl is in really rough shape so I balance time costs and importance/value I place on the music.
  23. I would have taken a second to ask him how the recording came to be and why such a long time between first recording session and second one with a different sax and bass.
  24. Per the Blue Note discography project these were the master takes. This is how I assembled my CDR. Edit to add: I just noticed "Just Foolin'"
