I am pretty sure that they do object to sign stealing from 2B ... wasn't there a story once about A-Rod doing something really blatant while taking his lead from second base and getting one high and tight at his next AB?

Late 60's Early 70's Blue Note Lesser Known Gems
Dan Gould replied to Tom 1960's topic in Recommendations
Tom if you enjoy Gene Harris the Live at the It Club volumes that Michael put out are worth hearing (I'm partial to the first volume as several tunes have the same arrangements as on prior studio recordings from years before which makes them interesting to compare/contrast since the group is no longer the original trio; the second one has a couple of Beatles covers that are ... Beatles covers.) -
Looking to raise a little more cash for an important project by parting with a small group of high quality and genuinely rare records. These LPs will NOT have any price reductions. They will go to eBay by early next week and be listed at similar starting bids with higher buy-it-now option. However I will consider offers particularly on more than one title. Speaking of more than one title, shipping is $4 additional in the lower 48, Media Mail, for one LP. Purchase of two or more gets free Media Mail shipping. New LP mailers for shipping and all have poly outer bags too. In all cases I play-tested the recording by recording into goldwave, then visually scanning the wav form for evidence of possible ticks and pops, and spot-checking as necessary. I also let the recordings play out for long periods so there was a lot of actual play-testing too. So I believe these vinyl ratings are very accurate and fair. Note that in no cases were ticks or pops heard on more than one revolution. I suspect a good cleaning could raise most or all to Mint/NM status. Clark Terry Live 1964 (Emerald (Horace Silver's label)) cover VG+ (modest edgewear, intact seams, modest corner dings) Vinyl NM $8 Larry Davis Live at JB Hutto's (P-Vine Special, with OBI) cover as perfect as could be, vinyl NM (maybe one "tick" each side) $20 Magic Slim In the Heart of the Blues - Blues Power (Isabel Records) cover VG+ (intact seams, barely-there corner ding but an odd indent on seam opposite open side of jacket) vinyl VG++/VG+ (grand total of perhaps six light ticks thru entire LP) $20 Magic Slim TV Dinner Blues (Blue Dog Records) Cover NM (intact seams modest edgewear, tiny corner imperfections) Vinyl VG+ (a few more light ticks on both sides, none more than one rotation) $13 Magic Slim Live 'n Blue (Candy Apple Records) Cover VG+ would be NM except for seller sticker (name, address, ph #) at upper right of front side Vinyl NM (I heard one tick on one track) $20 Mississippi Delta Blues Band Chromatic Style (features Sammy Myers on vocals and harp) (TJ Records) NM in all ways and very rare - $25 Johnny Shacklett Trio At the Hoffman House (Universal Artists) NM/NM - very rare record by guitarist heavily influenced by Wes, with Mel Rhyne and his brother on drums. $30 (There's a far less nice copy on eBay now for $340 buy it now - not that he should get that, but you'll be hard pressed to find a copy this nice at this price) Paul Bryant Something's Happening (Fantasy) NM/NM - also probably the nicest (Mono) copy extant, and Bryant's recordings never got the OJC treatment. $16 George Kelly & Panama Francis' Savoy Sultans (Black & Blue) NM/NM (modest corner ding) $15 - never reissued by label!

It is an acquired taste, that Doggett/Wild Bill/Buckner thing. So I don't begrudge people who put it down. Hearing a lot of Doggett lately plus Buckner on B&B, I've grown to dig it for sure. To get back to the topic I'd love to know what particular Dex recording, if you found one, speaks closest to this commonality that you hear.

Perhaps but aren't more of the vocal mannerisms out of Ben?

And perhaps another quarter to Liv for keeping them relevant in the video age.

Took 26 years and the pictures are unbelievable (and I've never cared about this stuff myself): https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-7678617/Rod-Stewarts-secret-hit-track-Veteran-rocker-finally-lets-world-legendary-model-railwa.html?fbclid=IwAR18nQvyqqg8uN0YE9s5uLQ9JocPdanAlZlpk-eGwZguJe8vp5LNtGeGDDc

Does this extend to calling down to the dugout to direct the next pitching change and/or double switch? I understand front offices are asserting more control over what a manager does but how far does it go? And is Kapler still the best candidate?
-
Thanks for leading me to find out who the head coach of the Jets is. Thank God Google is free.
-
Of course nothing will happen other than perhaps a fine. I'd like to be a fly on the wall while Houston investigates. "Did you do it?" "I told you the plan and you said to do it. So yes, we did it." Anyway - Kapler lands in San Francisco. He's like the Beto of Baseball. Failing upward. You would think his reputation would take a hit after two years of failure in Philly but no ... (and I say this as someone who remembers fondly how, in the 2004 World Series film - I think one of the extra features, it wasn't in the main movie - how every single player, to a man, said Gabe Kapler when asked favorite teammate (maybe there was one guy who didn't say "Kapler"). He's clearly a good guy ... just not sure about his total baseball acumen or suitability as a manager.)
-
Very nice, even if commercial release doesn't end up in the cards, a great keep sake of your pop playing with world-class sidemen plus wonderful memories. You're a good son Clifford.

Someone should be going thru Houston video to find as many examples of that banging as can be found. If its just fastball/not a fastball that isn't hard to decipher and communicate, and just how long did it ever last? Farquahar figured it out pretty quick, and it would only be happening in situations with no runners at second, right? As far as the pitching goes, its all about spin ratios right? So maybe they got a hold of some sort of 'stick-um' type of substance that dries on the pitchers hands and doesn't leave residue on the ball? That's where my mind went when I thought of the improvement in pitchers that sign with them.
-
And like Felser I declared that I was done but every time I think I'm out they pull me back in. January please.
-
For fuck's sake indeed. That video breakdown of what Farquahar said is brutal. Will MLB do anything?

Anyone else before they go off to eBay? -
Gotta admire a guy who looked at Lindsey Nelson and his jackets https://www.google.com/search?q=LINDSEY+NELSON+METS&safe=off&sxsrf=ACYBGNQNJfaj9J8PeAMtEQGx-7jOUtQMOg:1573562281902&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjivOCm2OTlAhVDA6wKHboYBQ4Q_AUIEygC&biw=1600&bih=789 and said "hold my (Canadian) beer": https://bleacherreport.com/articles/523079-what-on-earth-is-he-wearing-don-cherrys-top-10-most-outrageous-outfits#slide12

What's the best current way of uploading pictures?
Dan Gould replied to mjzee's topic in Forums Discussion
I am pretty sure that the size limitation is per post, period. For instance, I can upload this Freddie Roach cover in this post. But when I try to edit my post above to add this 58 kb snip to the existing Percy France attachment it gives the size restriction warning notice. -

My secret is I open the photo located on the hard drive or thumb and use the Snipping tool to save it again. The attached photo of Percy France was 425 kb when open in Paint, saved as a jpeg via the snipping tool it is only 65 and therefore uploadable. -
