  1. this storm is so big its effecting the UK and Florida simultaneously?
  2. Blowing a gale but chilly for central Florida! (Low to mid-60s until Monday, lows under 50 with one night expected to go under 40).
  3. There is a marketplace element here but I would direct Jim to my post of the Funny or Die video, where the actress breaks character at the end ".... to remind you that this song is completely inappropriate." That is mind-fucking. That's a clear as day statement that you can't enjoy this tune and, as I am sure Lipi would say, be on the right side of history. Just because the bitch can't enforce her standards doesn't mean its not royally fucked up.
  4. Seriously, you encourage someone to pick up a dictionary than offer a definition of ""we don't want to change anything, because I've got mine"? Oh hell at least you didn't define it as Nazism.
  5. There you have it folks. As Charles Krauthammer put it, The right thinks the opposition is deluded. The left thinks the opposition is evil.
  6. You mean the future really is female? And intersectional? There aren't enough eye rolls available. On a separate question, I disagree with Felser, Blazing Saddles never gets made today. No way no how. In fact I was watching Beverly Hills Cop just yesterday and my wife and I were agreeing that the scene in the private club ("and that Mr. Maitland should see his own physician before things start fallin' off on the man") would never ever get made today. Yet it is in my opinion a Top Five Eddie Murphy screen moment.
  7. I'd say right now it needs to be some Dex because that's the only place I get a chance to read the biography. (I have no idea what it should be when I move on to the new Valley Forge study.)
  8. Precisely. Did anyone click thru to the Funny or Die video? I don't think the song should be banned, but I was totally enjoying the video, until that thudding, awful, appalling end. "I'm ______ reminding you this is a completely inappropriate song." Comes thru like the shovel to the dude's head. Subtlety is not exactly the PC crowd's forte now is it? They could have have said "I'm _________ to remind you boys that 'no means no' and if you don't get it, you might get a shovel to the head." But no: "If you didn't get the message from our silly video, I'm here to remind you that song is completely inappropriate." Made me want to watch the video again and root for the guy this time.
  9. I shouldn't have said recorded in Japan, but they were for the Japanese market and while there may be a chicken/egg question, Eddie told me in our interview that he made regular tours in Japan due to his popularity there.
  10. Today's the day; late is tomorrow ...
  11. I've asked Tommy to inquire with the son to see if we can find out if this is one of the projects in some stage toward completion. My guess though is that Bob himself looked at it and changed his mind. Was it a big LP seller back then? He may have not followed thru based on expected sales. Anyway I'll post if I find out anything.
  12. I can't believe DC hasn't taken its lesson from New York. You earn it here, you pay it here is their motto, if I'm not mistaken.
  13. I have a hard time believing its that different, DC vs LA but anyway, this is seriously distressing to me: The Red Sox lost Joe Kelly to the Dodgers in free agency and are also in danger of bidding adieu to Craig Kimbrel, but it doesn’t seem they’re urgently searching for relief help. Instead, the reigning World Series champions are planning to “wait out” the market until a reliever falls to them for a palatable cost, Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston reports. "Waiting out" the market will inevitably mean picking the bottom of the barrel when the best names are gone. That's freaking stupid and potentially disastrous. I can only assume that they think they have an in-house option for closer or have decided that the difference in performance doesn't justify the current market cost of relief pitching. Penny-wise, pound-foolish.
  14. I just heard that he's a Southern California boy so I am not surprised. He got hot at the right time and I'll appreciate his contributions last October but he has never fulfilled his promise as a starter or a reliever over an entire season. He and Kimbrel were the cardiac kids, and too often not in a good way so I am fine with both moving on. In fact I welcome it as long as they replace with decent talent that's a little more trustworthy.
  15. Charlie Morton to the Rays. That gives them legit 1 and 2 starters to go with their openers. The East could easily be a true three way fight this year if no one jumps out to a 108 win pace.
  16. Excellent sleuthing. They seem to have a connection to Penthouse recordings - without having the liners nearby I wonder if these pre-date that engineer dude, Wilkie(?) who hosted the radio hits and is the source for the Resonance releases.
  17. Happ very close to a return to the Bronx, on a three year deal. Apparently other teams were offering two and Happ was waiting for three from someone. So the Yankees wouldn't go four with Eovaldi but would go three with Happ entering his age 36 season. I find that somewhat interesting, I guess it makes sense from a perceived injury risk side but still, thru age 39?
  18. Never heard of this label, when I saw "Penthouse" I was sure this was a new Resonance tape following the Sounds, Wes, and Cannonball. I wonder if this is legit, as a tape would need clearance from BN if Wilson was signed. As they say it was within a couple of weeks of the Something Personal session. As for Redd Foxx, wonder if he did any of his old R&B tunes with the band.
  19. It's a big one, so !
  20. why not order from Tommy? You can't really beat two disc Uptown for $18 shipped.
  21. No Kevin I think Jim is saying: This is the way Dusty rides. Has always been so. Not gonna change. You would like it to be different and meet your standards that you think are reasonable but the fact is that DG doesn't do back orders. Period. And they are pretty up front about it, aren't they? The comparison to Mosaic isn't fair because one set up a backorder system and one did not.
  22. Yeah but not really. Kevin wants them to keep a list of pending orders for when they get it back, and issue an email notification to people who requested one if and only if there are copies left over. That's like a hierarchy of waiting.
