  1. That one has rewarded repeated listens. Took quite a few before I filed it. Two Sonets back to back:
  2. Getting excited for Wilyer Abreu (who should be next to get an extension locking him up for 8 years or so) and the 22 year old kid, Campbell. More talent on the farm and not sure where to put them. Cedanne Raphaela needs to prove he can hit major league pitching, cut down on Ks and get his walk rate up (which seems to be happening a little) to stick. If you have someone who can play CF effectively and hit for power and average and get on base, how can you keep a guy who is a great defender but strikes out a ton, never walks, and very occasionally hits a homer? He's only 23 now, I think but there is talent coming up and I feel like he is the weak link in the OF for well-rounded game.
  3. Riddle me this: MLB.com schedule page does not include MLB Network broadcasts for TV availability, only national cable/over-the-air broadcasts plus home and visitor TV. WTF? My elderly Mom needs to be reminded if and when the Cubs are on TV and now I have discovered that I have to go to MLB Network to see schedule and make a note to call her as close to broadcast time as I can (with her mental state calling her the night before is unlikely to prove effective).

  5. This looks like a great blog to thoroughly investigate, thank you for posting.
  6. Your tweet had a community response stating that the info is false. Clark didn't even play at one of the minor league levels, IIRC.
  7. He did, and he doesn't have a clue. Nobody does unless their name is Abreu or Campbell. What a horrid start. I hope you are pleased with the Red Sox middle reliever you signed. Wil hardly walk anyone, quality strikes, and plenty of swing and miss even at 39.
  8. Had I known these were 3 or 4 disc sets I wouldn't have wondered. There was no intention to crap on your sale Lon - I hope you know that. Anyway those interested would also know that pricing is fair or on low side.
  9. Out of curiosity did these sell originally at such high prices or are they long out of print and therefore selling at high prices now?
  10. Apparently the pop ups can be defeated as I had none. And I don't even no my settings in Chrome.
  11. “A Virtuosity of the Heart”: Early Bebop Piano Reconsidered A look at Clyde Hart, Nat Cole, Dodo Marmarosa and Bud Powell. Published February 18, 2025 – By Allen Lowe https://jazztimes.com/blog/a-virtuosity-of-the-heart/
  12. I had many left over from last year so I could put together one in very short order. But that should be a last resort.
  13. Since the Times alert email came in the minutes between logging onto my email account and "what is this new email?" I assumed it was really breaking news but I guess the Times timed it to the publishing of the obit.
  14. This came over the NYT email alert literally moments ago ... https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/21/sports/george-foreman-dead.html?unlocked_article_code=1.504.fXhv.kaOuJNG5QWza&smid=url-share When I was a kid, I loved boxing and loved George Foreman the most, and was so disappointed when he lost to that loud-mouthed braggart Ali. It took a little while for my appreciation for Ali to catch up to the reality of his skills and character, but my admiration for George only increased in the ensuing years. RIP.
  15. Since I am not a subscriber, the moment I signed up to read the article, I printed out a PDF and saved that.
  16. I went the other way, the Jodie Christian had been pulled out fairly recently and then today was the Eddie Johnson leader dates.
