  1. You are 100% wrong: https://www.mlb.com/news/josh-naylor-home-run-celebration-alds-game-4
  2. Who knows but this was almost like an alternative reality where Dave Roberts doesn't get the stolen base and the Red Sox got swept out of the playoffs again, only the shoe is on the other foot. All things considered this WS is probably the best realistic outcome to come out of the LCS's. I have no desire for an Astros championship, whether cheating or not so I guess I am rooting for the Phils despite their 87 wins on the year. Do it for Schwarber.
  3. No idea how you are doing it Tom. Everything I opened up says stream only and right clicking on any link doesn't reveal a downloadable mp3 file.
  4. Thanks though streaming only is a tad disappointing.
  5. Of course I saw the initial celebration and also understand he's been doing it all year - his homers are "his babies". The only thing questionable about it was doing it when they were still trailing. If Cleveland fans criticized it should have been for cutting the deficit not taking the lead on the homer. I guarantee if it happened to the Yanks back when, Billy Martin would have ordered retaliation. I'd suggest he stay loose in the box in the future but like I said, Tito isn't known as that kind of manager.
  6. I'll be surprised if that's actually the case but if it is, if the saxophone tries to look like Bird, Cannonball and Trane, he better be getting paid better than the rest.
  7. +1, but I really hope that its the marketing effort giving the impression. The saxophonist seems young: https://gulfcoastsymphony.org/artists/aaron-west/ And ironically, the guy "playing" Miles was promoted by Arbors on his first CD (I included it in a BFT about three years ago probably) as having played in Satchmo-themed bands, I think on cruise ships where he had a steady gig for six years or so.
  8. So my wife sent me a link to a Florida gig by a friend of hers (vocalist who is more cabaret than jazz AFAIC), and that led me to wonder about other "jazz gigs" in Fort Myers at this venue. And I found this first show curious to say the least: JAZZ AT THE MACC: MUSIC OF MILES DAVIS The Gulf Coast Jazz Collective opens it’s 3rd season with the music of one the (sic) Jazz world’s most important innovators – Miles Davis. Miles took part in almost every era of jazz including bebop, hard bop, cool jazz and fusion. As usual, the Collective will put their own twist on Miles’ music. That means high energy, excitement, and a ton of fun. The show features the phenomenal trumpeter James Suggs, who hails from St. Petersburg, Florida, to play the role of Miles. The show also features Tampa Bay saxophonist Aaron West in the roles of Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley, and John Coltrane. (Italics added.) The role of Miles? A saxophonist to "play" Parker, Cannonball and Coltrane? For that matter, what about Wayne Shorter? Not adept at playing that "role"? Struck me as very odd yet sadly indicative of something. Maybe its only indicative of the kind of marketing that's required to make people reach for their wallets - name checking legends, even if they skipped one. I know calling it "the role of ..." ain't gonna make me want to go. So - curious what others may think.
  9. Gleyber Torres would get a pitch or three way up and in starting in Spring Training or regular season 2023 but Tito is too much of a class act to order that after that punk ass move.
  10. Funny when I saw it I didn't need to have any idea how it sounded ... Hank was enough to make it an automatic purchase.
  11. I missed it a year ago but its never too late to start barfing over the idea of "virtual" duets on holiday classics by Nat Cole and a cast of no talents.
  12. OK so how come when I click on the little image I get this? Is there something weird happening on my PC only? And can't they get the drummer name spelled correctly? It's not Gerryck King in reality? His discogs page shows he played with McDuff among many other fine players like Ray Brown, Red Holloway and Harold Ashby, plus Joe Williams. https://www.discogs.com/artist/430830-Gerryck-King?type=Credits&subtype=Instruments-Performance&filter_anv=0
  13. Intriguing - but all those words and nothing about who was in the band? I have no idea who was playing with him back then but would be extra interested if it was someone on sax that I recognize.
  14. Very nice, and turning 96 in just two weeks!
  15. What are the details of this recording from 1973? I don't rely on discographies but when I was interested in appearances by saxophonist Arnold Sterling, eBay listings were my friend, for seeing the credits listed and in some particularly sharp photos, reading liner notes. In fact there turned out to be Sterling appearances that Discogs didn't know about. I would think it's possible to track down this recording and puzzle out if it's "a" Charles Brown or "the" Charles Brown.
  16. My friend from Ukraine just sent me confirmation that he received from a Danish TV researcher: No more Hank Mobley exists on video. He also provided the official description of the episode of JazzBeat it came from (via Google Translate): Sent 1st time: 22-04-1968 [Description:] The Jazzbeat editors visit Jazzhus Montmartre in St. Regnegade, Copenhagen, where the South African pianist Dollar Brand ( Abdullah Ibrahim ) plays his own composition; restaurateur Herluf Kamp-Larsen tells a little about the jazz house, and American tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley plays Gershwin's 'Summertime' accompanied by pianist Kenny Drew, bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and drummer Al Tootie Heath [Cast:] Beefeaters; Hans Mobley, tenor saxophonist
  17. Yeah I can't even find the current list for the 2022 season. Who is up after Jim?
  18. Methinks the music is entirely above them but sizzle and mic blowouts, they hear that shit right quick. (And RVG doesn't stop the take or ask for another on a mic explosion?)
  19. I agree it did feel a little "old hat" after the first couple.
  20. 4 WS championships since your last, pal. And more than any other team in the 21st century.
  21. Mets on the cusp after a Scherzer start is certainly a delightful way to start the morning.
  22. VLC is another software that works well to extract or convert file formats.
  23. If shelter is pre-built I'd think that would come into play too. At least the style of the shelter.
  24. A single record for the mythical island of despair? OK today it's https://www.discogs.com/release/1165468-The-Gene-Harris-Trio-Plus-One-The-Gene-Harris-Trio-Plus-One I would also like multiple copies and a way to visit any nearby island whose resident is on record as calling Blue Hour a "snooze". Gene and Stanley wailing on the blues in a club setting will set them straight. When I am convinced rescue is hopeless, I would then ask where I could exchange it for Blue Hour
