I think Dayton is still a large enough city to have one or two. I have no idea if its become a hipster-doofus paradise and they have over-priced vinyl because that's what the kids go for, doncha know.

I can try this, but how do they track it down when it was handed to an individual? They go out and ask about it at the address? Nothing to stop someone from opening it, finding used CDs and getting what they can from the nearest record store. If Janette Circle is that close, had I received such a thing I'd have delivered it to you. I've realized I actually have a claim for a refund with the seller, his policy be damned. He generated the label, and I would bet he got the wrong city/state on there and that's the basis for the mess up. We've all had wonky tracking records, sent hither and yon, how many have actually ended up "out for delivery" in the wrong city and state? Isn't there a set of human eyes looking at the address at that point?

This is fucking infuriating. Large Discogs order of CDs ... shipped from NJ. Tracking now says it went to Dayton Ohio and was delivered and left with an individual. Either USPS tracking is completely wonky or I am permanently screwed as seller has the "won't be responsible for 'lost, stolen ..." shipping condition and I never ask for insurance. And yes, if you're wondering, there is a South County Line Rd in Dayton.

I found a sealed LP copy something like 20 years ago, pretty sure it set me back a dollar. I bought it solely to distribute to anyone interested, given that I have absolutely zero use or interest in anything Tyrone Washington ever did.

I encountered Ben Sidran first on VH1, back when they kinda/sorta programmed some jazz-dedicated programs(?). Perhaps it was BET instead. He struck me as a pre-Kramer hipster doofus and I am sure it effected my interest in the rest of his oeuvre.

Already being host of the digital files it makes perfect sense ... and congrats on retirement. (And I had no idea that had happened. I recall you mentioned being too busy with work but retirement - you seem way too young but if you have the years in, good for you.)

No one should ever, and I mean, freaking ever record "God Only Knows". The original recording is sheer perfection, and as shown by the steakhouse video above, Carl Wilson is the first, last and only person to do it justice.

This is a bit of shock and 71 is certainly too young. My favorite Hurt movies/performances are Body Heat and especially The Big Chill. I know the latter gets mixed reviews but it came out as I was developing strong bonds with a group of people at college, and so the themes were very real to me at the time. I don't know how many times I've repeated "I could have, I chose not to. I'm not hung up on this completion thing."

As far as I can tell, demands (in millions) went like this: $115 $110 $120 final number $50 mil. Very sad to hear this news, Bill was a nice guy. I also recall his last post about Covid but also believe I recall a mention here or on Facebook about Multiple Myeloma and if that were true its easy to imagine that a Covid infection could be much more dangerous. RIP.

So another marathon session and another meeting later today. Would love it if MLB responds to whatever PA counter-proposes by going backward on 2 or 3 of the things that they conceded ground on before. Taste of their own damn medicine. Edit to add: Too bad they won't. But they should.
