  1. Got it. Was going to throw in ZTs Blues but that matches the Green set in terms of DMM LP first, then CD later.
  2. Would Grant Green’s Born to be Blue meet the parameters of the question? I don’t think it was part of a 2-fer, and its first LP release was an ‘85 DMM. CD came in ‘89 and was individually released, so pre-Conn. Mosaic set that included this session came in ‘90 on both LP and CD.
  3. Yeah, on my list now. And that Turrentine Bluish Bag has a track (or 2...) but not every song on this LP set: Oh, and now I read the title of pre-Conn. Lol. Drinking some more coffee so my comprehension level can improve. I'll shut up now. (and delete that rambling post )
  4. That's right- hardly any! Maybe he was referencing Roscoe Mitchell's album from your label? Some recent discoveries: Stephanie Santiago from London Miir from Gary, IN Tawiah from London KeiyaA from Chicago And Jamila Woods also from Chicago Far from a Neo Soul overview, but just some leads on what I think are some talented singers.
  5. Man, really? Just seems so shallow a pool to relegate oneself into. Wade on out toward the deeper waters big fella...
  6. Been streaming the Blue Mitchell Blue Note records: The Thing to Do, Step Lightly, Down With It! & Boss Horn. Favorites of this group are Down & Boss. Boss benefits from Duke Pearson arrangements, which I really enjoy. Love coming across those on those Mobley records as well. Pearson was a talented dude... Also, I love Junior Cook's playing. Sue me.
  7. Nat on cornet in 2 different quartet settings. Natch!
  8. Wow, great news
  9. This one? If so, it's John Berg, who did all of the Miles 80s albums too. Some nice work in this guy's portfolio
  10. Love that cover art/design. And I bet the SQ is great too.
  11. Shelf room being made for the Joe Henderson set? April is right around the corner...
  12. Yeah, I'm interested in that too, but would prefer digital over a 3 LP set...hoping after that set is released they spread across other media.
  13. Man, I've regretted both of the times I "purged" my collection. Glad it worked out for you though. Been streaming these albums and like what I'm hearing, so looking forward to playing them on the main system.
  14. Sorry to hear that. My best wishes to you and your wife. Hopefully it will be mild and y'all will get well quickly.
  15. I'm guessing you have the Art Yard CD set? I'm really intrigued by the quartet setting on these and can't wait to hear it. The P-Vine's I think will unfortunately have Japanese liners so I won't be able to read them (hoping I'm wrong, but I suspect not).
  16. Yes, and thankfully mine does. Good point either way, and that Yamaha model you linked definitely looks nice. Best of luck finding one that suits your needs.
  17. He's really impressive. I just ordered what I think were the last copies of the P-Vine CDs of Disco 3000 and Media Dreams at Import CDs. Both are 2 CD sets of live shows from Italy in the late 70s. Looking forward to those.
  18. For sure. I was listening to my download of the regular Lanquidity this AM and was thinking that if they do any sonic improvements on this one, that hopefully the bass will be one of them. I've really been getting sucked into listening to more Sun Ra these days. The percussion ensemble playing is outstanding, as is the bass playing, usually by Ronnie Boykins or Victor Sproles.
  19. My first and foremost Rollins rec these days (edits and all):
  20. The only other suggestion I have if Bags Unlimited doesn't work is to contact the label (Analogue Productions maybe?) to ask where they get theirs and if either they can sell you replacements or put you in touch with their contacts for them.
  21. There is a setting on this player that keeps the DSD from converting to PCM, and it also plays multichannel.
