  1. Link doesn't work. Although I'm suspicious of an April Fool's gag here...
  2. Great stuff. That Caravans track led me down a Womack Brothers rabbit hole (Curtis Womack - phenomenal) for a little bit. Inez's singing style reminded me so much of them.
  3. Really enjoying this.
  4. Yeah, they fade out early on. Nice touch. Just got another on a Stone Alliance track.
  5. Yeah, I think so. Just heard an edit on one of the Rollins tunes
  6. yeah, this is great stuff. Listening to those Sarah Vaughn songs among others. Such as Sonny Rollins To a Wild Rose - anyone hear that yet - good gods.
  7. I listened to this and it wasn't clicking with me, but I may be an outlier as most things I'm reading are positive.

If you're not dead set on vinyl, don't sleep on those XRCDs of True Blue & Back to the Tracks. Or any of those Blue Note Audio Waves for that matter...

I'd probably go with the individual albums over the Mosaic set but that's personal preference as I don't have any info as to which would have the best sound. But I guess you'd have to add both Street Singer & Jackie's Bag to get the full scope via vinyl...
  10. Thanks for sharing this link. One of the comments under the review for Ornette's Shape of Jazz refers to some good quality hi res downloads from Presto Jazz and Classical, a site I'd seen before but had forgotten about. Looks like they have a ton of jazz and classical lossless (some at 192/24) downloads from $14 to about $20 or so (they sell CDs & SACDs as well) which seem to be good deals.
  11. No, if I were you I wouldn't. Bandcamp, where you could possibly get a physical copy if you want, and/or other streaming options are a better bet. And I say this because I've read other posts from you @JSangry where you've talked about not revisiting recordings once they imprint right? Seems most jazz SACDs are legacy titles. There wont be any Billy Bang or similar artists on these things most likely
  12. Right, that's what I meant. Mistakenly said air horn.
  13. Sometimes a bull horn can be the actual horn from the animal (I have one laying around here somewhere, fitted with a mouthpiece as well). Or sometimes it can refer to a type of air horn. I'm guessing in the above setting it's a bull's horn proper.

  15. Odd that Mosaic never posted sound samples of the Herman Mars set like they do with just about all of these. Is that a question of rights, or more Mosaic "marketing"? The Desmond set doesn't have any either.
  16. I love that album. Thanks for the reminder, need to play it today.
  17. Per this bandcamp page they released it in 2011
  18. This is great music. But I always get the feeling that these head melodies from 70s jazz really inspired whomever was writing game show or sit-com theme songs back then. Same feeling from some of Tolliver's work from back then too. Or maybe some of these players were involved in ghost writing those tracks too? Once they break out of the head into the solos that goes away.
  19. There's actually a Publix boycott going on for reasons unrelated to Covid that I recently read about. Their pharmacy disorganization is kind of surprising though. Hope there's some accessible alternatives (dept of public health maybe?) that you discover and can take advantage of.
  20. Nah, keep it. That should move you to priority in the Covid vaccine line IMO.
