My thinking now is that I want everything to be made by the same company - so if I go with the Pro-Ject Carbon, I will also go with the Pro-Ject Acryl-It platter. I also prefer to buy everything from the same retailer. I have been planning to go with Amazon because I currently have a greater Amazon gift card balance than bank account balance! However, Amazon says that they are out of stock of the platter, and don't know if they will ever carry it again. It appears to me that Amazon is having a sale on Essential Art House DVDs, with what I see going for around $15. I know that many of you are big fans of Criterion, but their movies seem to go typically for around $25. Are the Essential Art House products good enough to save the $10 per film, or do you recommend spending what it takes to get the Criterions?
