  1. Yeah. Pretty "Complete", huh? I should get a refund.
  2. quite toasty here, mid-90s with humidity. approaching 100s tomorrow. We are being told to stay indoors. A 10-min walk for the dog (black fur, large breed) just wipes him out in this heat.
  3. ECMs have not been hitting Yourmusic recently, not like I have been expecting them to. Any ECM new release I'm interested in, I just buy it now. They seem to be selective. The recent Steve Kuhn, Keith Jarrett, John Abercrombie and Miroslav Vituous titles showed up after a long, long while, but other recent titles like John Surman's last one are MIA. They do carry another Crispell title, so who knows ... This new Crispell looks too good to wait for yourmusic so I pre-ordered it from Borders with the latest 40% coupon.

  5. But that's not what happened in the Galaragga perfect game I just described two posts above. The Tigers announcers were clearly discussing a perfect game for at least 3 innings!
  6. I never had any opinion on it until Galaragga's perfect game (yes, it was a perfect game, despite the umpire), when by the 7th inning the radio announcers began pointing out that not only were there no hits, no runs, no baserunners, no walks, no errors, but it was a PERFECT GAME! I thought that they shouldn't be saying it. Just mention the usual box score-type updates and be done with it until it's official.
  7. one of my favorite boxes, even with the dicosgraphical errors and the sometimes-poor sound.
  8. The Fillmore East Deluxe has Midnight Rider and One Way Out which also appear on the Eat a Peach Deluxe (they are from the last Fillmore show, June 27 1971 or something like that). The rest of the Fillmore Deluxe is from the March shows that made up the original release. Get them both. Skip that box (it's not really a box, it's just a double disc set).
  9. why didn't he just get the call right in the first place if he is supposedly such a "great ump"? it wasn't all that close of a play, how did he miss it so badly? And, in the top half of the inning, Johnny Damon got a gift call on the same kind of play at first.
  10. As a chemist (not a plumber, though), I'd say try vinegar. It's what I am going to use on my own pipes the next time I need to do anything. The combo with baking soda is non-corrosive and should be just as powerful as the oxidizers and other concoctions sold as drain cleaners.
  11. I am only constrained by finances. If the family didn't rely on me to feed and house them, I'd have more than three Mosaic sets, to begin with.
  12. It's only going to be released if they can package it with a Kind of Blue or Bitches Brew reissue.
  13. They haven't played @ the Forum since '96....
  14. I just heard it in the car. No mention of the label (of course), but it was a pretty short piece.
  15. For one brief moment, all the Canadian teams in the playoffs were up in their respective series' 1-0.
  16. Yeah- he's the reason I became re-interested in Wilco after AM (I like Tweedy's Uncle Tupelo countryish roots but completely lost interest when he wanted to become Brian Wilson). Funny how a lot of Wilco fans don't like his "noodling". Huh. Most Wilco fans I know love Nels' playing. Not from what I can tell. All I hear is bitching about how much better things were with Jay Bennett, and that there is too much focus on the guitar now.

  18. some people on the Hoffman forum think those ticket prices are perfectly ok. I don't get it. I think they are overpriced. Anything over $50 is overpriced, I don't care who it is.
  19. Absolutely one of the most talented and unique players, musicians, I have ever heard (just happens that Adrian Belew is almost as good). Doesn't make me want to read his diary entries very often (sometimes they are fascinating, however).
  20. It's just 10% off and it ends soon. I haven't bought any in about a year but will go for the complete Zurich '73 (I'm feeling weak & completist as part of it is on The Great Deceiver) and possibly a the Denver '72 (the more recent concert release, not the very early Summit? studio release.) This need probably comes out of expecting to be buying the next round of 40th Anniversary releases but they've been put off until September. I've ignored those recent reissues because they just reissued everything between 1999-2001 (and they sound fine to me), and I don't have DVD-A, or any interest in watching archival videos more than once. Robert Fripp may deny being King Crimson, but he is definitely the King of Reissues.
