sorry, few days late, but Happy Birthday!
-
Isn't that him drumming on King Kong on Uncle Meat? I've always liked that tune for, among other things, the drum sound.
-
I bought both of them 2 weeks ago at Borders. I've only been able to listen to them once each, but I like what I've heard so far. At least on first listen, the second volume seems a little more avant-garde (and not just because of Mat Maneri being added).

Happy Birthday GregK!

As long as I keep getting them, they will always be great! -

thanks, fellas! i've never gotten the chance to start one of these birthday threads, so i'm on the lookout now for the next one -
I liked it. I like the entire Creative Orchestra Music album, and "the march" is great. I almost said "shocking", but, this is Braxton, so nothing is unexpected. Now tell us how you feel about For Four Orchestras (aka Composition/Opus 82). Haven't gotten to it yet. I plan to spend the next week listening to the Montreux/Berlin concerts!

well, that was officially the first and definitely last episode of the Steve Harvey show that I will suffer through. I already thought TBS was incompetent before tonight's screwup with FrankTV, but to inexplicably lose the opening inning is outrageous.

Bob Dylan Tell Tale Signs: The Bootleg Series Vol. 8
GregK replied to HolyStitt's topic in New Releases
Got it Tuesday. My favorite Dylan period is covered by this set, and it's great. Just might pass the Rolling Thunder volume to be my favorite of the Bootleg Series. -
Wow. You hold Reagan's reach in such high regard and for things completely outside of any President's control. You're either deranged or just so humbled by his power and unable reason its impact. I'm familiar with Reagan's "SDI" initiative--but not so with his "Crush Art" initiative. Can you explain? I always thought "The Artists" were making "The Art." Is this not the case? To the contrary -- it's often more liberal government leaders who choose to fund art via "The Government" -- thus creating "government-funded art" and therefore having a greater hand in its creation and purpose. The irony of the left. By your "logic" Herbert Hoover gave us Jazz. What I suspect you mean is: "I was so blinded with hatred for Reagan in the 80s that I have still yet to realize how impotent my ideology truly is -- as were many artists, who made a lot of lousy, uninteresting art as a consequence." As for your "America can be deadly to brains" comment. I suspect you've never lived in an oppressed region of the world. Many a people would spit on your for such an impotent thought -- I wouldn't cross the street to do so. In case you hadn't noticed, this is neither a political thread nor the politics/religion forum. That directed at Chuck or bixieland?

I had to clear the upper and lower filters in my Windows Registry to get them back (http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B314060&x=12&y=13#), but now I get a warning message every time I open iTunes. Pain in the ass.
-
Does that solve the problem? Yes. iTunes is not a problem on my iMac, just on my PC (although it's still an awful program)
-
I don't know anything about that, but when I upgraded to iTunes 8, it killed my DVD-RW and DVD-ROM drives. They still open and spin a disc, but nothing happens. Device Manager says "error 41". After some googling, turns out it's a common problem with iTunes. One more reason for me to seriously hate iTunes but love the iPod.
-
Common mistake. Even Scott Young, Neil's own father, called him to congratulate him on another #1 song when he heard it.
-
Any idea if the price will come down? I doubt it will as it is being discontinued for a smaller hard drive version, but I'd really like to get one. My 30GB is just too limiting.

How Walkable Is Your Neighborhood?
GregK replied to catesta's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Zero here. But I live in a new subdivision in the country, with about 3 miles of sidewalk, which is perfect for walking with my iPod. I walk it every day before I go to work (my only chance to actually listen to music!).
