  1. no it's not.
  2. a bit too money greedy imo the whole text on the site.
  3. If this means you have one for sale for 20000 yen it might be a good deal (only €130)!!!! PS I'll trade mine for the Gillespie & Rich Mosaic's so if you really want it that badly you know what to do.
  4. so you're that close to Hiroshi!
  5. VICJ list now updated and confirmed by Mr. Tanno. SO get your pre-orders in and give him a nice Christmas (business wise that is).
  6. Kevin: these are not the Fantasy compilations you're talking about. JVC issued the original LP's in the 90's on VICJ-23xxx numbered cd's. These series don't list any info on the re-mastering. Manufactured in Japan from masteres owned by Fantasy USA is all I could find on these. They do have the original artwork (front and back) reproduced which is cool too. I don't think you should need them just for sonics since the Fantasy remasters are good as well.

  8. another correction Robert. All which were released previously as K2's are K2's again (of course) all the others are earlier remasterings (Japanese or US). I have the SuperStop information and this tell's which are 20 Bit K2's and which not. I'll post it later.
  9. Of course I've found them on HMV as well. I meant the info on the license of JVC and the fact they supposed to be K2 (that's not on HMV or is it?).
  10. Etherbored: where do you get your information from? I've looked at the JVC site and these are not on there.
  11. same here Jason.......I have the Sonny Criss, Trudy Pitts and some more as the older VICJ-23xxx cd's which sound good. Indeed a new remaster is almost too much to ask for (especially since the rumor has it JVC has lost it's Fantasy material license). This taken into account it's logical they want to squeeze some more (last) money out of their license before they can't do this anymore.
  12. Wow.....a lot of these weren't released as K2's in the past. Either they are the older VICJ-23xxx versions reprinted or new masterings in K2. I'll check and get back to you.
  13. a little more serious replies please........
  14. aaahhhh the Dutch and their so called humor all the time!!!!
  15. you see that's exactly what I mean.....a mere 50% of jazz purchases......not serious!!!
  16. proceeds form the cd sets go to the education project of the SF Jazz Org so this might be part of the deal, price wise. I've been listening to disc 1 sofar and it's great again (just as the 2004 & 2005 editions). For the cheapos on this board (who don't take their jazz seriously): there's a 1 cd compilation coming again next year from Nonesuch.....
  17. I know from Mosaic's point of view the Mulligan Concert Band set is the BEST seller ever, period. This even surprised MC quite a bit. The worst seller is (amazingly in my perspective, limited as it is, I know) the Sorty Rogers Atlantic set (which I'm still looking for, reasonably prices that is....)
  18. These so called early stereo recording by Atlantic are binaural recordings (so not 2 or 3 track). This means a recording head at an angle on the tape to obtain this "stereo". It didn't work that good because there are loads of azymuth and tape wow and flutter problems. In English they sound like sh•ªt. Maybe the ones you are listening to are later recording which are real stereo and 2 track but I don't know this for sure.
  19. Hello all, just noticed this reissue on Mighty Quinn. Didn't see any discussion about it over here. Did someone actually buy a copy? If so how is it and how is the sound? I think I'll buy it as well but just to keep the discussion going and for Jerry!!!
  20. you could make it a joint venture and store the shoes inside the Mosaic boxes (the sandals will fit I assume)..........
  21. It's 20 Bit digital K2 remastered. In my opinion far better than the older Fantasy remastering which is in the US set so worth the extra mony. Certainly if you don't have the Miles sides elsewhere.
  22. I've ordered over 300 cd's with Caiman and I believe they are the best price sellers I know. Indeed some cd's were not delivered but always refunded in full and in a timely manner. So I guess I am lucky.
  23. The Doldinger set is on it's way to me too. Indeed pre passport era.
  24. Yes that's right the extra discs contain the Miles sessions.

Thanks Kyo for clearing that up!!! Turrentine sells much better than the 3 Sounds so that could be reissued easily. The 3 Sounds will get a select or mosaix set in the future so stick around and you'll be able to get it in your lifetime!!!!
