  1. it's $50000+ now already!!!!! What's up with this iPhone????
  2. CD Universe is wrong about the Mini LP replica statement. These are regular jewel case reissues from Japan (TOCJ-70xx series). With all the extra material available (as on the US RvG's).
  3. New trio recordings with Gomez/DeJohnette and McBride/Ballard (if I remember correctly).
  4. Brownie: a bit late but ...uh Saskia is not available for the male population (relation wise) so her looks are for women only!!! Don't think she's that good either but that's another matter.
  5. I don't think recordings do him justice (Spee's that is). I saw him live with the Tolliver BB 2 years ago and this year with a Freddie Hubbard all star band and on both occasions he was awasome. When with the Tolliver BB he sat bext to the much appreciated Gary Bartz but to my ears he played with more fire and spirit than Gary on those gig's. Indeed a nice person (maybe too nice for the business). I also heard his wife handles the financial side of things and is a little picky (to say the least). Tolliver couldn't affort him for the CD recordings and tours anymore because of this.
  6. "The JRVG of the Quebec session is one of the warmest, most beautiful-sounding cds I have" Let's hope Rudy didn't "correct" this nice sounding Japanese RvG transfer for the new US edition.............
  7. Indeed very strange for Herbie Nichols to be on the upright bass on that sessions since he was quite a while dead already and I've heard his bass playing wasn't that great to begin with........
  8. Russell gone.
  9. 5 DVD's added
  10. 3 More added.
  11. especially with the dollar at an all time low against the euro.
  12. I left the Swiss out on purpose!!!!
  13. I know exactly what you meant, was just kiddin'. How about Phil Seamen, Tony Oxley & Tony Kinsey in the UK, Christian Garros & Jean_Louis Viale in France?
  14. I don't think the original LP's had liner notes (but I might be wrong). I'm happy with these reissues, keep 'em coming.
  15. I always though we had Kenny Clarke who got away with that title
  16. Ron Carter was deleted from the North Sea Jazz Festival line-up because of "personal reasons". Not bad enough to prevent him from playing in the US (strange). Hope this won't be seen as a break of contract. I'm going to the NSJF tonight as well (went last 2 days also). Friday I saw a killer Charles Tolliver Big Band set (with Bill Saxton completely smokin' Billy Harper, not a small feat!!!). Talkin' about underrated......This Saxton guy is really something. THen off to EST (the Swedish ECM type trio) which was very good. Topped the whole with a smashing set by Scofield, Medeski, Martin & Wood! Yesterday (saturday) was more "woman" type of music day. First Steely Dan (always great to see those guys). Then our own Trijntje Oosterhuis with the Metropole Orchestra (Vince Mendoza arranger, conductor) singing Burt Bacharach songs (she just made a cd with these songs and line-up). THen I wanted to see Gino Vannelli but the hall was too crowded and you couldn't get in which is a pitty since my good friend Erik Kooger plays the drums in this group. I'll catch them later in the Netherlands somewhere. Tonight will be the best I hope with the SF Jazz Collective, Joshua Redman Trio, Dave Holland Quintet, Mike Stern/Dave Weckl/Anthony Jackson, Solal with Konitz, Mengelberg trio etc, etc.......
  17. Luckily it's "only" $500 and not $750!!!!!
  18. Stereo radio was still very rare in those days (in Europe at least). So the broadcasting companies recorded in mono most of the time since it was for airing purposes only.
  19. And let's not forget the great sounding DAD's issued by Classic Records (some, if not all still available)!!!!!
  20. Last time UP - Free shipping with 3 CD's or more (without the plastic).
  21. For a KRvG you need to remove the power lead otherwise the current get's too strong and the neighbours get a headache. PS the KRvG thing is not a joke, I really have it. Didn't compare it to the JRvG but I guess they are the same since that one is also from 1998. My guess is the USARvG will be a newer remaster so that one can (and probably will) sound different.
  22. Issued in the late 80's cd series McMastered with catalog number 84426.
  23. Riverrat: Don't worry, the RvG will have all the extra tracks (just as is the case with all the RvG's as opposed to the JRvG's (excluding the later series which had the extra tracks)). I have the KRvG (Korean) & the JRvG of Flight to Jordan. The Korean version has the bonus tracks as well (remastered in 1998) so I guess I don't need to buy it again!
  24. Wanderley's finally gone!!!
