You're tied with about 42 games left, so now every game matters. I looked at the Rangers schedule the other day and they have a pretty favorable one. The last three games against the Angels may be gimmes if the Angels have clinched and they want to rest players. Much better than last year for you, right? No doubt about it: no one expected the Rangers to be this good this deep into the season (much less at all!). Still, aside from the inconsistent bats, the Rangers' biggest problem has been their inability to beat the so-called "easy" teams: they can take care of the Angels and the Red Sox with the greatest of ease, but the Twins? How in the name of the baseball gods can a team be this good, yet blow five-run leads for two consecutive games and lose to a team that is where the Rangers usually are this time of year? That's baseball, I guess... here's another, Big Al- you'll be a Yankee fan this weekend!!!

Chris, you may want to move the thread to the 'Offering and Looking...'. Right now it's in the Musician section and it might not be seen by those who might like it. -
The guy goes to the hospital with a broken jaw and 'nothing happened'?! WTF!!!

I've found for myself that the law of diminshing returns definitely applies. If I start with one of an artist's best works and I keep going in acquiring their recordings it gets to a point where the satisfaction level starts to diminish, each recording is less exciting/revelatory/essential than the ones before. As a result I try to avoid being a completist because I know it will end up in a disappointing end.

She simmers but never boils. I enjoy her music, but after about 20-30 minutes the tunes tend to blend together for me. If you think she's not beautiful I suggest a trip to your eye doctor!

Given that Boras likes to go down to the wire, we may see an absurd bonus coupled with a last minute signing. That said, it's still a crapshoot whether he'll pan out as a star pitcher. Mark Prior got over $10mil and he hasn't come close to being a star pitcher when he's not on the DL. That season was one of the most incredible single seasons by a pitcher- he won almost half of their games!

Absolutely it is potentially suspicious. Are you not aware that burglars target houses with for sale signs? And what can be seen from a window? Nothing, that's what. Anyone who likes a house from the curb needs to jot down the number and arrange a viewing. Period. You cannot judge the interior by peering into a single window. You're right that there is no crime and no law broken, but I sure as hell would want to have neighbors who call the cops about anyone looking into my windows while I am not home. So absolutely the cops should be called and they should check the guy out. Dylan understood their reasons for their actions, why can't you? Dylan was quite cooperative, but the cops still went way too far. The cops could simply observe him and determine that there is no crime. Instead her winds up getting a ride from the cops to identify him. That's something out of the old Soviet Union and should not happen in the US.

Texas may have an edge because I believe they have a pretty favorable schedule. They have a bunch of games against Baltimore/Minnesota/Cleveland/Toronto, and they'll all be just playing out the string. Should be an interesting WC race.

That's not wandering around the neighborhood looking at houses, that's trespassing. You want people peering through windows of houses whose owner isn't there? This isn't something for the police to investigate? A man looking into the windows of a house for sale is suspicious? He may want to see the layout of the house, may want to see if the house is damaged, etc. It could very well be a prospective buyer. There's still no crime and no law broken.

There's some stuff in this story that disturbs the hell out of me. A man walking around looking at houses is suspicious? He hasn't committed any crime yet he has to identify himself? When he doesn't have ID he gets taken away in a police car? WTF!!! Suppose there's a guy I personally don't like and I see him walking around my block but in fact he is doing nothing illegal. Now I don't like this guy so I call the cops and tell them there's a suspicious guy walking around. It turns out that he has no ID on him, so he has to get dragged to a police station? There's something seriously wrong here when people are dragged away from wherever they are simply because someone doesn't like their looks, etc.

Anybody see that clip of Shane Victorino getting doused with a beer as he caught a flyballat Wrigley? I was disgusted by the asshat who did that. The Cubs handled it well, apologizing for the idiot's behavior. http://starcasm.net/archives/12095

Count me among those who were unfamiliar with Prima Materia until now. I really like the sound clips I've heard, and I managed to purchase used copies of all three of their releases. Where did you find them? I heard some of the Swift are the Winds of life on WKCR today- excellent stuff
