  1. I believe if it's not shipped within 30 days of the initial order, the order is canceled.
  2. "A Slice Of The Top" is kind of costly. I was very fortunate to pick this up recently when one of the forums members made it available in the "Offering And Looking For" section.
  3. I don't think the publication of a new book is proof that Hank Mobley's popularity is growing. Not disputing what you say Hans. But it's really hard to believe Hank isn't very popular. Having posted on these forums for the past few yrs. I would have thought the opposite. Love my Mobley Mosaic just the same.
  4. Surprised to see no one biting on the Farmer/Golson/Jazztet Mosaic. One of my favorite Mosaic large boxes. Well worth the price.
  5. Nice haul, Paps. I especially enjoy the "Harold In The Land Of Jazz" release. Hope to hear your impressions soon.
  6. There were a number of items I purchased, that would have cost me some big bucks say through Amazon Marketplace. To me a small price to pay in order to get some hard to find releases.
  7. Simply put, to learn more about jazz music. The depth of knowledge here is staggering. Glad to be a participant here even though I don't know diddley compared to some of you guys.
  8. Without a doubt Tiny Grimes' version of "April in Paris" from the album "Blues Groove".
  9. So... What do you think?
  10. With all the talk about Stitt's Bits, I placed an order myself. I don't want to be the only guy here who passed on this great deal.
  11. Have a great birthday, Lon!
  12. Not sure if I'll receive all these recordings, but here goes: Roots - Various Artists Ted Curson - Fire Down Below Tiny Grimes - Blues Groove, Callin' The Blues, Tiny In Swingville Ray Bryant - Alone With The Blues Sonny Clark - My Conception
  13. I've always been a big fan of Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet's and Merlot's. I claim to be no expert, but they have been highly regarded for the past few yrs and come at a very affordable price usually $12 - $14. Just make sure you look for the Grand Estates and not Two Vines which is a cheaper version of the label. Thanks for the tip, Tom. I've been meaning to take a chance on that winery...I'll check it out. We had the Merlot with dinner tonight [my wife is a Merlot fan...so I went with it] and it was a very good pairing with our BBQ'd Filet Minon. An excellent wine for the price [$12 bucks]. That's great! Glad to have sold you on this. You really can't go wrong for the price and it's a darn good wine. Check out the Cab at some point also.

I had the opportunity to sample all 3 of the above OJC titles and that was enough to convince me to purchase them. The date with Coleman Hawkins sounded the most interesting. Man, I have to stop hanging around this place. I'm going to get myself into serious trouble.
  15. PM sent on Sonny Clark, My Conception.

    Tiny Grimes

I'm presently enjoying some of his work on the album The Prestige Blues Swingers, Outskirts Of Town. Very nice bluesy sound. I did a search and was surprised to see litttle discussion of him here previously. Anyone here also enjoy his work and willing to offer up a few thoughts, recommendations?
  17. Any thoughts on the "Roots" album?
  18. This has to be the worst summer in recent memory. On the positive side it hasn't gotten very hot, on the negative side it just keeps raining and raining. This has been killing my bike riding. I'm sitting here looking out the window and it looks pretty iffy. If it doesn't clear soon, it looks like I'll be heading off to the gym again to put my time in.
  19. Interesting album here, heavily influenced by Teddy Charles who supervised the session. Great lineup. Not sure how many of you guys already own this or not? I just received this in the mail courtesy Oldies.com. Glad I picked this one up. While I already own a few of Charles' dates, I really have to get more.
  20. I quite like that Chicago Sound album---some good stuff on there. Hope to play that(Chicago Sound) over the course of the weekend. Arrived in the mail yesterday courtesy Oldies.com.
  21. Amen to that. With the rare exception of a few local independent dealers in my area, where is the incentive to purchase anything these days in the brick and mortars? The selection stinks which is putting things mildy and the prices are much higher as opposed to purchasing online. I really miss the good old days but I'm afraid that's part of history now. Oh BTW, I hate downloads, but that's just me.
  22. I just received my shipment. I received the entire order with the exception of Red Garland's "Soul Junction" and Phil Woods "Pairing Off". No complaints here. As other posters have stated there is a cut in the bottom corner of the spine. Not really a big deal to me considering I was able to acquire some hard to find releases. A happy customer.
  23. Happy birthday, Chris!
  24. Just got off the phone with Mosaic and placed an order for the Weston Select. Based on the many positive reviews here, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy this. Thanks one and all.
  25. If you're basing this on their website's order status, well, that's what we all thought too... Good luck though! Same message here. Shipment is now on it's way. We'll see what I end up getting.
