  2. How strange. My wife and I were just talking about Lux/Cramps last week....

    Jon Hassell

    Geno Wong. Now there's a name I haven't heard in years. I was a DJ at WXPN back in the late 80's. Vaguely remember meeting him (and John & Kimberly) a few times at station meetings. Michael Cuscuna used to host a show on WXPN back in the late 60's.....

  13. I think Arizona has a good shot. Pittsburgh is banged up. I want Pittsburgh to win, and they should win, but the Cards are on a huge roll right now. I'll pick Arizona. Edit: 45 total.

  15. HOLY CRAP!!! Thanks for posting this.
  16. The thing about Warner is that he has always had a stellar, HOF caliber receiving corps when he has been successful. And when he hasn't, like in NY, well...... If McChoke had Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce or Fitz and Boldin to throw to instead of the corps of nobodies he's been saddled w/ his entire career I might be referring to him as McSuper. But I've got to give Warner credit tonight. He came through on that last drive and that's all that matters.
  17. You know what pisses me off the most about this loss?? It's that McChoke and Reid will be back next year and we have to pick after the Cowboys. We're just not going to win a Super Bowl w/ these two. It would have been better if they had missed the playoffs altogether. That way we could have cleaned house and started the rebuilding process. Now we have to wait another year before they hire someone else. Sigh...
  18. Donovan McChoke strikes again. Go Steelers.
  19. http://www.avantmusicnews.com/2009/01/17/d...needs-a-kidney/ This announcement was sent today from Steven Joerg at AUM Fidelity: This is an urgent notice on David S. Ware’s health. David needs to find a kidney donor. David was diagnosed with kidney failure in 1999 and he began dialysis that fall. He had an intensive three week hemodialysis regime toward beginning peritoneal (self-administered) dialysis, which would allow him to travel. He has been on this self-administered dialysis regime multiple times every day and night since October 1999. While certainly difficult, he has been able to travel, and perform his music undiminished, since then. However, late this past December, David called to say that after 9 years this treatment was no longer working as it had been, and that a kidney transplant is the only viable option for his survival. Since then a number of friends and family members have offered to give him one of their kidneys. Unfortunately, they have all been disqualified due to health reasons or not having David’s blood type, O. Some basic/initial requirements for viable donors are that they must be under 60 years of age, do not have diabetes or high blood pressure, are in general good health, and have blood type O (either O or O- is fine). The hospital where a transplant would take place is the very highly regarded Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ Willing and able potential donors should please get in touch with us as soon as possible: Steven Joerg / David S. Ware management aum@aumfidelity.com telephone: 718 854 2387 We will then get them directly in touch with the Kidney Transplant Center at RWJU Hospital to begin the screening process for donor viability. Thank you on behalf of David S. Ware;
  20. What I find amazing is that the captain was the last person off the plane and exited ONLY after making sure everyone had got off the plane safely. I would like to think that I would have acted in the same manner as the pilot but I something tells me I probably would have acted more like George Costanza....
  21. I see your point and personally I would have liked another year or two. However, I think they wanted a 3 year deal because they have some (legitimate)concerns about his about durability. He has a history of back trouble dating back to the minor leagues. This past season was the first of his career that he didn't hit the DL. So they probably saved $5-6 million buying out 3 of his arbitration years. He becomes a FA after 2012 season. It's a really good deal when you consider that they gave Adam Eaton a $24 Million, 3 year deal not that long ago.
  22. Cost certainty. Phillies entered this off season w/ 8 arbitration-eligible players - tops in the majors. There's a good chance Hamels would have commanded more in arbitration. Phillies also have an unofficial policy of not signing pitchers beyond a 3 year contract. Excellent deal for both sides.
  23. Dodgers cut Andruw Jones (AKA "WORST FA SIGNING EVER")..... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3836749
