  1. Yeah, if I know Murray well enough, either he's going to tank or he'll pull it out.
  2. Nadal, then, is no. three?
  3. You have coverage??? Well, I would've been watching that if I had the proper channel to watch it on!!! Del Potro won four titles last year during the US Open series, so I'm not surprised he's doing well this year too. I think the man's surface is hardcourt period. But yes, I agree with you too. Del Potro has a great shot at this grandslam title; he will give any of the top players a run for their money. The competition is held in my hometown,so tv from here broadcasts it, you are aware that by digging a bit you can find webcasts online. You're one lucky cat. But, concerning webcasts, I have the ATP website saved in my favorites and they're not very useful. I'm all ears (or eyes, if you will ) for suggestions.

  5. Just bought this in Chicago a couple of weeks ago and I just popped it in the player tonight and decided to read this thread too, but I totally lost track of what I was reading after pager three, as this music just overwhelmed me. WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it took me this long to come around and buy this. What the hell was I thinking? I feel so fortunate to have this rare opportunity to hear a an engagement like this! Thanks to Chuck and everyone else that helped deliver this to the public. I mean, I can't say it as well as Jim and others who've commented on this cd, but Jesus, I am BLOWN away! Diz and Parker are incredible! Al Haig is doing some crazy shit here too. And I agree about Sid Catlett. He's playing a kit like its Blakey or Blackwell. I didn't really know who he was, but he's not old school. Just some thoughts. But man, this is some amazing stuff!
  6. He worked with the Replacements? Didn't know that. Was it at Twin Tone? That was the Replacements best work! RIP.
  7. Amen, because that's all we got! And my 'local' store is nearly 150 miles away to boot!
  8. Yeah, my ears are perked!
  9. Problem solved: ate my wife's leftovers from when she went out to eat with her girlfriend tonight
  10. Dunno Open for suggestions. McDonald's? Tube steaks perhaps?

Another album where he made an impression on me was Marion Brown's "Quartet" on ESP w/Alan Shorter and Bennie Maupin. Great percussion there.
  12. Have a good one SS!
  13. Did you finish the shirt? BTW, Here to Stay is a very nice Hubbard Date. Now drinking French vanilla coffee.
  14. A pity about the Green. On the other hand, I'd like to know what does exist in their archives.
  15. Cabbage rolls and a salad.
  16. Re-run of the office where Michael's paper company is purchased by Dundar Mifflin, and Ryan and Pam get saleman positions. Funny stuff!
  17. Surprised that art schools and museums wouldn't pick it up. The Ayler film was featured in Cleveland both at the Cinematheque and the Cleveland Museum of Art. The Cinematheque also showed a film about free jazz where Don Ayler was in the audience. Maybe the theaters that show independent movies would be a good bet too like the Cedar Lee in Cleveland Heights. I don't know, just brainstormin' aloud.
  18. Been meaning to play this one again. What an incredible discovery!
  19. I'd buy it that price, but I already have the K2, which sounds great to these ears. Also some nice Horace Silver too.
  20. well, there are still nessa and futura/marge... Right, and Atavistic UMS, Transparancy, etc too. It was Verve/Universal that came to mind first. I totally forgot about the independents! Shame on me! :blush2:
  21. Man, RIP.

Sad news indeed. Favorites are the aforementioned Interstellar Space and Touchin' on Trane, where his playing never took a moment to rest; what an intense player! edit to mention another great one with LeRoy Jenkins: Swift are the Winds of Life!
