  1. Well its seems evident that there's no Blue Note reissues on the horizon, but I thought the Prestige RVG's were rolling out with some regularity, although they seemed to have cut their reissues down to three or so per batch. Are there any on the way? Or has this reissue program, along with the Keepnews Collection, come to a screeching halt two? Funny enough, it seems that Verve are the only ones with a regular reissue program in full swing.
  2. Well after a surprisingly cool July, the heat's been turned up high into the 90's with humidity to match.
  3. Locked Up Abroad on Nat G O.
  4. Went to Vintage Ohio wine fest and came home with several bottles, of which Columbus Classics "Sweet William" a sweet red wine was the highlight for us.
  5. And its available! Gotta get it.
  6. Keep us posted if she wins or not.
  7. Looking forward to this one, since I have no Schoof leader dates!
  8. This is a good one!
  9. I think there's a thread somewhere on him, but you may have to search back pretty far to find it. Either that or there's a discussion on him that took place in the John Patton Corner thread.
  10. Sad to see this one go OOP. Nice set. Nothing earth-shattering, but definitely worth listening to.
  11. Me too. Love this album and love the RVG even more. Major improvement over the Conn. And neither the case, it has the rare appearance of Alan playing with Wayne on the same album!!!
  12. And along with your great list, I'll add Dutch. He didn't direct it, but he did write it. Ed O'Niell was absolutely hysterical! RIP Mr. Hughes.
  13. Having trouble in Ohio too.
  14. Some of my favorite Baker as well as Mulligan.
  15. I like the slipcases because it protects the digipack inside. The VEE'a I've bought used recently without the slipcases show nearly 10 years of wear -n- tear, whereas the two that I've bought used recently with the slipcases look just as fresh now as they probably did in 1997.
  16. Thanks for the link. I'll be buying it! I didn't realize Transparency has already released over 20 Ra titles. If the mastering is as good as they are claiming, then it might be quite possible that this would be one of the cleanest transfers of Ra's music from this period, perhaps right up there with Black Myth/Out in Space.
  17. Man, no kidding! Kind of reminds me when Van Gogh's mom threw away most of her son's paintings!
  18. George Russell, who I've been really, really digging a lot lately. I think what I like most is that he's not really a flashy player, he seems really layed back and lets his band play, but its something about the arrangements and the aggressiveness of the players that really drives this music forth. Botton line: I'm absolutely floored by it!
  19. Indeed. Thanks for posting.
  20. You know it! There's a time and a place for a "hell yeah" and finding a rarity is one of those times!
