  1. HB McCoy!
  2. Been out of town for about a week and this is the first thread I opened...totally bad news. RIP Prince Lasha
  3. Now that sounds like Ohio weather
  4. A friend of ours is making a dish consisting of hot dogs, potatoes, and green peppers.
  5. Unreal. I can't believe how much more they're deleting. A sad time for cd collectors, like Bruce mentioned above, why even bother? The cd's life span seems to be less than 30 years; this is a real bummer.
  6. The album cover for Demon's Dance is pretty bad.
  7. Chicken baked in cream of chicken soup topped with stuffing.
  8. And more Pacific Jazz titles going OOP, with what little is left in print now....great
  9. More weird weather. Today its nearly 50 degrees, with gusty winds and rain.
  10. Holy Crap! Time to buy, buy buy! I mean, that first list was managable, and I put everything I don't have and want on my Christmas list, but man, I don't own like 15 or so titles that I want from that second list.
  11. Joe Puma-Wild Kitten-Dawn really diggin' this one
  12. Thanks again for the update. Glad to hear he's making progress!
  13. Kind of embarrased, who's Goodwin?
  14. This was a senseless murder for a stupid reason; a huge loss to 20th century music. RIP John.
  15. [quote name='sal' date='Dec 5 2008, 09:22 AM' post='862783' Don't forget those two wonderful Andrew Hill albums "Dusk" and "A Beautiful Day".
  16. "Barnacled - Charles - (ESP) weird ROCK of some sort, I think $5" Saw this used in a store sometime back and couldn't make much from the credits. Is it psychadelic rock or something? Kinda like the Fugs or the Godz?
  17. Any updates? Is he out of the ICU?
  18. Best wishes to get well.
  19. From one ghost to another: HB!
  20. Up. Just picked up the El Hombre RVG on a whim (which I don't think was discussed here) and I'm digging it for what it is (not too familiar with Trudy Pitts, but overall, I think plays rather well). Some of the tunes chug along but there's some others with pretty badazz intros that really get the foot tappin. I'd be interested in the Kloss material featuring Martino or vice versa...is that available? I think I recall Fantasy putting one Kloss disc out, but can't recall anything else. So what is a good assesment of his Prestige material? It seems there was a lot of talk about the later stuff, sans Strings, but are there any other opinions? And I do hear a strong Wes influence on El Hombre; I really dig his tone.
  21. A couple of Prestige RVG's: Pat Martino-El Hombre Oliver Nelson-Screamin' the Blues
  22. I just scored a copy of that Studio 4 date, viz Bainbridge on cd about a half year ago, and its really good. Besides his BN and The Message, it seems there's not much else to round out the 50's and 60's as leader. I know he recorded some stuff later on, but besides that, his discography seems really small-a real shame!
