  1. Peter in Toronto, Here's another thread on dreams (some music and non-music related) that you may find enjoyable. http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...8&hl=dreams HG
  2. Had a dream awhile ago that I was shopping for cd's in a store and saw the latest release from Rush, who apparently left Mercury to record for Impulse! Even had their new release in my hands with the Impulse! label prominently displayed on the front cover.
  3. Just bought on line: Sun Ra-Secrets of the Sun-Atavistic
  4. uuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Smash Mouth?
  5. Yeah, I just read this article on my homepage! Cyperspace apparently is becoming the new place for virtual crimes.
  6. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay Cool! Thanks for posting; never saw BJP in action before
  7. I'm halfway with you here. Personally, I think the album is a mixed bag, with some very good compositions, and some that are a bit on the dull side, but it doesn't hang together well as an album. I love the track "Enitnerrut" for one. Also, it's supposedly one of the worst RVG's soundwise, as ghost pointed out----a lot of others would agree with him. This might add to the sense of it just sitting there (if you've got the RVG.) Along with "Enitnerrut" I wanted to add that "A Fickle Sonance" is another standout track, IMO; some amazing playing by Butch here.
  8. Pretty sure you don't mean this kind of segway but maybe this kind The latter Momentary lapse of concentration.
  9. I'd say give it another try-there's some amazing playing on this disc, especially Butch's. I see this album as a segway between the hard-bop that he was trying to leave and the post-bop/avant garde that he was to explore on albums such as Let Fredom Ring, One Step Beyond and Destination Out! ps: I was not impressed with the RVG treatment of this one-it sounds like it was recorded in a can!
  10. Saw Nugent (who opened for Iron Maiden) in 1987 and his stage show was just a stack of amps nearly 20 feet tall and it turned out that his show was louder than Maiden's. I had a ringing noise inside my ears for months after that!
  11. Milking it for all its worth:
  12. [quote name='Free For All' date='Oct 21 2008, 03:30 PM' post='845440' This thread has the potential to get kind of mean-spirited IMHO.
