Happy Birthday!

Most people like singing and pay little attention to instrumental music. My friends who don't like jazz all hate the "old" music with "no words" I would play for them. Most people just want songs they can learn the words to and sing along with, preferably with someone pretty to look at doing the singing. Look at the success of American Idol, it's glorified karaoke. I would bet jazz could be more successful trying to promote Peggy Lee-type lady singers, with its instrumentalists finding a way to implement their craft behind a sexy voice.

The Mavs missed five free throws in the 4th quarter, that's what cost them the game. Instant Classic Sports game, that's for sure.

Can we do that again? I don't feel I was "on."

Flip Saunders is the Pistons' weakest, most unproven link. They're still my pick to come out of the East and I don't think they'll be a pushover in the Finals. I'd like to see Chicago knock Detroit out, I'm a fan of all those great young players. If Wade decides to pull another of his miracle comebacks, the Heat could repeat. Then again, I haven't watched Shaq's apparent resurgence. I didn't think they could win last year, so I'm not going to count them out again. I wonder if Yao and TMac will make a push out West. I'd like to see them throw a wrench in Dallas or Phoenix' plans, or better yet San Antonio's. The West might just beat each other up enough that the Eastern champ will be fresher in the Finals.

Nope! If Wade makes it back and is immediately 100% you guys have a chance, otherwise I don't think the forecast is good. As of now I have to think it's the Pistons out East and a dog fight out West between the Mavs, Suns, and Spurs. Should be a great playoffs!

I'm pretty sure I've already said in this thread that Kobe tends to do that sort of thing. Not sure if I've seen him throw a "tantrum." It isn't like he racks up technical fouls like Rasheed Wallace from a few years back. I think there is a negative perception of Kobe coloring some of your glasses as much as a positive one colors my own.

For what it's worth, Marco Jaric said he didn't think Kobe did it on purpose. This is true.
