  2. This made the rounds at JC. The music video is too over-the-top for it not to be a hoax. God Hates A Fag? C'mon now. Also, I don't think Jay-Z or Ghostface Killah have made it onto the shelves of many gay folks.
  3. Coffee cold, brown, and indifferent Coffee red as the red, red eyes

I really want to see the Silver 'N' series come out as RVGs, and I need to pick up Six Pieces Of Silver & Stylings Of Silver to replace my Best Of disc...
  5. Is there more to the documentary? I'd like to see more interviews and more music. Funky drumming and a solid groove are something I love to hear--even if there isn't a great solo accompanying it. Paul Humphrey's album Supermellow has some FUNKY drumming.

    BFT #43 CD-1

I've gotten so much new music lately I've scarcely had time to listen to your BFT, Ray. I do want to chime in, just to say thanks! I'm going to read everyone's comments next time I listen.
  8. Chubby Checker Desmond Dekker Boris Becker
  9. Fascinating how individual tastes differ, a few of my favorites are mentioned in here. Hub-Tones I disliked enough to sell. Later I thought I should have kept it and given it a second chance when I read praise directed its way.
  10. I'm interested to see if Phoenix or Dallas will wear down from the breakneck pace they're working at. I wonder if the Mavs still have the Suns' number--or if the Spurs can rise from the ashes and knock either one out. It isn't like San Antonio stinks this year. As far as the Lakers go, they'll have a tougher time against the top Western teams come playoff time. There will be no catching Phoenix (or anyone else) off-guard this year.
  11. I wouldn't be without any of them, but Cape Verdean Blues is my favorite of the above. "African Queen!" You need The Tokyo Blues, too.
  12. Ricky Bobby Slick Rick Tricky Dick
  13. I really like the Ammons, especially "Piece To Keep Away Evil Spirits" and "Jug Eyes."

    1956 Coltrane

Maybe it's just me, but I don't care about where music or art are going and where they've already been. I care much more about enjoying what pleases me, ongoing dialogues be damned; state of the art be damned. The trails were blazed by so-and-so and the ground has already been tread, but not everyone was there to witness the steps as they were taken. My viewpoint into history is tainted by what I have and haven't seen--it is impossible for me to experience it chronologically, so chronology itself is less important to me.

  16. Sounds like a cool adventure for the Organissimo guys! Congrats Barak! Looks like all your hard work is going to pay off.
  17. This is a New Line movie, by whom I am employed. It's supposed to be great, everyone in the office loves it. Go see it, everybody!
  18. Condolences to Conn. I left Mammoth mountain and the Pats were up 21-3. Must have been an epic collapse. I hope the Colts win the whole enchilada.
  19. Oprah Shamu Mtume
  20. These two compilations, available on emusic, are both pretty cool. Dingwall's Digs America
  21. Cartman's Christian Rock Band is a classic! I've never watched the show regularly, only caught random episodes here and there. It's had me laughing myself silly every time. I'm not much help with your question.
  22. As writers go, so goes the show. If the Scrubs writers left, you can count on it starting to suck. The same thing happened to the X-Files, which started very strong and ended up turning into crap seemingly overnight. It's also what's happened to Lost, I'm told (I've only seen DVDs of the first season and a half, so I'm bummed that Lost has lost it). Apparently one of the main producers bailed.
  23. Soul Stream's not interested in funk from anyone but JB or the Meters.
