  1. Father A.C.! C'mon down from the Church!
  2. next up: Art Blakey - Drum Suite My last one was Bobby Hutcherson - Happenings, which I really enjoyed.
  3. Wilkes! Get out there!
  4. Suit up, Coop! Big Game James, post up all game long then call the post-game entertainment!
  5. The injury bug is killing the Lakers this year. While's Phil's chatting up Scottie, he may as well call the Worm.
  6. With Odom possibly out for the season, the Lakers might just miss the playoffs. Phil has reportedly spoken with Scottie Pippen about making his comeback with the Lakers.
  7. I only have "Nothin' Stays The Same Forever" which Sangrey included on one of his early BFTs. It's been on my iPod ever since, serving as a reminder that I need to get more from Percy.
  8. Ray doesn't have to cross over onto the Hollywood side, he works in Universal City. Just kidding, Ray's right. My parents said the chaotic driving in Italy made them fearful for their lives, like nothing we ever see this side of the pond.
  9. I have one called "Dave Hamilton's Detroit Dancers" and which has some gems on it. Older 45s than most of my other compilations. Seeing Dave Hamilton's name, I'd take a chance on that one, SS1.
  10. No, actually I'm just a nincompoop.
  11. Hope it was a good one!
  12. Happy Birthday Johnny!
  13. Owls are among my favorite animals, they're so well-adapted for night hunting. On top of the tremendous night vision, swiveling heads, and sensitive hearing, their feathers actually grow in a certain way which makes them virtually silent in flight. They rarely miss their prey, since it doesn't hear or see the owl coming. Peregrines have been my favorite since I was a kid, the ability to dive at over 200mph was always so cool to me. I recently watched a show on them and found out they dive in a corkscrew pattern to keep prey in their line of vision. I've heard the Indian Swift is actually faster. African Greys' ability to mimic noises is amazing. There's a wonderful Discovery program in which a photographer takes a snapshot of one and the bird repeats the mechanical noise of the camera several times with incredible accuracy.
  14. Snowy Owl Peregrine Falcon African Grey
  15. Azymuth is funky, heavy on the sythesizers. I like them, I have the album Telecommunication. My favorite song is "The House I Lived In/Prelude." Odd to put a prelude on the end! I also have a song called "Dear Limmertz" on a compilation which is pretty cool.
  16. I knew I was having deja vu when I posted here.
  17. Yes he is speaking English...
  18. The ones near my home don't have the red heads, they're the yellow-headed variety. Or are those just the females?
  19. Burbank is in the desert just northeast of LA, and we've got a fine array of birds to enjoy. My favorites are the predators, the red-tailed hawks and sparrow hawks and the occasional owl. Owls are so quiet and only out from dusk on, so you've really got to be lucky to see one. I hear them hoot more often than I get a look at them. Woodpeckers are common, black and white ones with bright red chests who frequent the telephone pole out back. There's an old blue jay who is always in my back yard, I'm pretty sure I see the same one all the time. Its feathers are getting gray. There's tons of hummingbirds, my next door neighbor put feeders all over her yard. Unfortunately the feeders also attract vermin like mice and rats. Western tanagers and quail are abundant, as well as a whole lot of small birds whose names I don't know. It's great to sit by my back window and see them in the trees and bushes outside, many have beautiful markings one can't see from a distance.
  20. Cool photos! Add some pyro and it would look like a rock show.
  21. Thanks PHILLYQ and catesta! Get well soon, catesta.
  22. Come drive in Los Angeles, home of the tailgating, gutterballing, roadraging, cell-phone-using, weaving-all-over-the-road hordes, each of them convinced that they are THE most important person on the road. Placing them behind the wheel of a high-performance car only increases the likelihood of assinine driving behavior.
