  1. By grouping them all together and limiting it to 50 players they've subjected them to comparison across the years. Could Paul Arizin fill it up like Ray Allen? Jump shots didn't even look the same back then. Even within the list--Superman Mikan couldn't check Shaq or Hakeem.
  2. OK, so Greer was a gamer. I also heard Pippen had some sort of financial problems with a jet he bought.
  3. Was Rocky III the first, or possibly only, movie which began with a montage?
  4. "Big Game" James Worthy often played his best ball when it mattered most, putting up 40+ points in crucial playoff games. He had that sweet spin move in the post and could really finish around the basket or on the break. Scottie was awesome playing next to MJ, time to review some Classic Sports footage of the Bulls at their peak. However, that 50 greatest NBA players list is really a joke, for the reasons you state. It's WAY dated. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Nate Archibald Paul Arizin (no idea who this is) Charles Barkley Rick Barry Elgin Baylor Dave Bing Larry Bird Wilt Chamberlain Bob Cousy Dave Cowens Billy Cunningham Dave DeBusschere Clyde Drexler Julius Erving Patrick Ewing Walt Frazier George Gervin Hal Greer (Who?) John Havlicek Elvin Hayes Magic Johnson Sam Jones Michael Jordan Jerry Lucas Karl Malone Moses Malone Pete Maravich Kevin McHale (if we're questioning Worthy for benefitting a lot from great teammates, zombie-man has to get the same treatment) George Mikan Earl Monroe Hakeem Olajuwon Shaquille O'Neal Robert Parish (again, the Chief benefitted from that great Celtics team as much as Worthy did from the Lakers or Pippen from the Bulls--Bird was clearly their greatest player) Bob Pettit Scottie Pippen Willis Reed (what, because he played hurt and had a clutch playoff game?) Oscar Robertson David Robinson Bill Russell Dolph Schayes (c'mon now) Bill Sharman (puhlease) John Stockton Isiah Thomas Nate Thurmond Wes Unseld Bill Walton (What did he play, two healthy seasons?) Jerry West Lenny Wilkens James Worthy The following players could easily knock a few of those old-time players off this list, imo: Tim Duncan Steve Nash Kobe Bryant Dirk Nowitzki
  5. Damn, I was trying to be funny. Remind me to not do that.
  6. Father A.C.! C'mon down from the Church!
  7. next up: Art Blakey - Drum Suite My last one was Bobby Hutcherson - Happenings, which I really enjoyed.
  8. Wilkes! Get out there!
  9. Suit up, Coop! Big Game James, post up all game long then call the post-game entertainment!
  10. The injury bug is killing the Lakers this year. While's Phil's chatting up Scottie, he may as well call the Worm.
  11. With Odom possibly out for the season, the Lakers might just miss the playoffs. Phil has reportedly spoken with Scottie Pippen about making his comeback with the Lakers.
  12. I only have "Nothin' Stays The Same Forever" which Sangrey included on one of his early BFTs. It's been on my iPod ever since, serving as a reminder that I need to get more from Percy.
  13. Ray doesn't have to cross over onto the Hollywood side, he works in Universal City. Just kidding, Ray's right. My parents said the chaotic driving in Italy made them fearful for their lives, like nothing we ever see this side of the pond.
  14. I have one called "Dave Hamilton's Detroit Dancers" and which has some gems on it. Older 45s than most of my other compilations. Seeing Dave Hamilton's name, I'd take a chance on that one, SS1.
  15. No, actually I'm just a nincompoop.
  16. Hope it was a good one!
  17. Happy Birthday Johnny!
  18. Owls are among my favorite animals, they're so well-adapted for night hunting. On top of the tremendous night vision, swiveling heads, and sensitive hearing, their feathers actually grow in a certain way which makes them virtually silent in flight. They rarely miss their prey, since it doesn't hear or see the owl coming. Peregrines have been my favorite since I was a kid, the ability to dive at over 200mph was always so cool to me. I recently watched a show on them and found out they dive in a corkscrew pattern to keep prey in their line of vision. I've heard the Indian Swift is actually faster. African Greys' ability to mimic noises is amazing. There's a wonderful Discovery program in which a photographer takes a snapshot of one and the bird repeats the mechanical noise of the camera several times with incredible accuracy.
  19. Snowy Owl Peregrine Falcon African Grey
  20. Azymuth is funky, heavy on the sythesizers. I like them, I have the album Telecommunication. My favorite song is "The House I Lived In/Prelude." Odd to put a prelude on the end! I also have a song called "Dear Limmertz" on a compilation which is pretty cool.
  21. I knew I was having deja vu when I posted here.
  22. Yes he is speaking English...
  23. The ones near my home don't have the red heads, they're the yellow-headed variety. Or are those just the females?
