  1. The album is very much worth getting. Mary Lou's playing is just beautiful. The instrumental tracks "It Ain't Necessarily So," "A Grand Night For Swinging," "My Blue Heaven," and "Dirge Blues" are favorites of mine.
  2. Downloaded the new version last night, and that new search function is the main thing that's pissing me off. Not only for the reasons you guys are discussing, but now the searches do not access the iPod. They ONLY search what's in iTunes. I have 22,136 songs on my iPod, I do not keep that much music on my laptop. Now I have to scroll through the whole damn iPod to find songs. A big step back. I think they buried the quality control staff with Jobs like servants with the pharaoh.
  3. Rick Majerus, RIP. Damn good coach.
  4. I don't really have an ear for this sort of categorization, I guess. The strings are so lush and lovely that I thought it sounded...well, like happy ladies shopping.
  5. Hahahaha, I read your description and I was about to post that song. How 'bout this one? Nicely employed in film Sexy Beast:
  6. Good Lord, this week is brutal. LOTS of games could go either way.
  7. I realize Roethlisberger is important, but when a team turns the ball over 8 times and only loses by a TD, that's a game that team should have won. And as a fan of one of the worst teams in the NFL, I've got to admit I'm pissed when a team like San Fran can switch QBs midstream and still thump teams handily. Desperate teams even. It's really annoying that a move like that doesn't bite the Niners in the ass... Midway through Sunday, I thought I was having a bad week. Things changed in a hurry! Four off vajerzy's stellar pace.
  8. Among many things, I'm very thankful for all the knowledge this board's members have shared with me over the years. Happy Thanksgiving, all!
  9. Way to show up, Dallas. Turkeys have put up a better fight so far today.
  10. I'm locked out for submitting today's picks, but I'll take Houston, Dallas, and New England.
  11. They nearly always stink on the second game of a back-to-back. Even more so now that they're old.
  12. That second unit for the Lakers really has trouble scoring, but what's encouraging is that Morris and Duhon have been looking a bit more comfortable. Maybe when Nash gets back those two guys can help facilitate bench scorers like Jamison and Meeks.
  13. What a week by Agggggg! Only the Lambs let you down.
  14. 'Cause if my baby don't love me no more, I know her sister will.

    Moacir Santos

Just an aside, but a man came into my father's store to rent a wheelchair who shared the same name. He was delightedly shocked when I asked if he was related to the famous musician. He's Moacir's son.
  16. It's working the same for me, MG. Go to "more reply options," press the little green square button that looks like a polaroid, and paste the image's entire URL.
  17. I agree completely. Hiring Mike Brown was the Lakers Bobby Valentine move. Now they've gone and got Valentine v.2.0.
  18. Phil, yes. D'Antoni, meh. BShaw, maybe. Sloan, yes. McMillan, no.
  19. Glad to read you're healthy, NOF.
  20. Wow, I somehow missed this thread the first time around. I'll be using it to dig up masterpieces I have missed! I consider these masterpieces, off the top of my head: Stanley Turrentine "Shirley" Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers "Dat Dere" Duke Pearson "Wahoo" Brother Jack McDuff "Moon Rappin'" Roy Haynes "Dorian" Woody Shaw "Sashianova" Wes Montgomery "Bumpin' On Sunset" Grant Green "Street Of Dreams" Freddie Hubbard "Povo" Les McCann "Doin' That Thing" Roy Brooks "The Free Slave" Lou Donaldson "One Cylinder" Lee Morgan "Search For The New Land"
  21. Phil! Please help us! D'Antoni would get the offense going, at least. I hate him though.
  22. I'm in for a download, please!
