Happy Birthday! Keep the topics coming!

I'm with you on that one, Jim. All the players are going to get away with a foul or two here or there. Star players seem to get away with fouls that are very obvious, and the refs seem to swallow their whistles for visiting teams in hostile arenas...

The rules are well-established--4/10 of a second is enough time to catch and shoot. 3/10 of a second is enough time to tip the ball into the basket. Any less time on the clock and the players can only touch the ball and time runs out. The refs started the clock as quickly as they could get the information to fire across their synapses from their eyes to their hand. While this may amount to Fisher getting an extra 3/4 of a second to get his shot off--it is the way the clock is started and stopped all game long. All the officials agreed Fisher got the shot off. Therefore, when looking at the replay, they were only looking for conclusive evidence that the ball left Fisher's hands AFTER the light lit above the backboard. When they could not find any evidence, they agreed that their original call was correct. The NBA has very rarely agreed to overturn a call--and they didn't in this case.' If I were a Spurs fan, I'm not sure I'd be too happy with that explanation--but I'm positive it is right.

Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good! I can't think of a player more deserving of a great moment like that than the hard-working, classy Fisher.

It's one of the most frustrating aspects of my life at this point. Especially since I'm doing what amounts to hard, repetitive labor right now; I'm just shattered at the end of the day. My hands and wrists ache sometimes. If I get in a half hour of guitar in the evening, that's a good day. Yeah, I never feel like doing anything after work.. There's really no excuse. If we wish to succeed, we must keep our noses to the grindstone. Others in more difficult situations are still able to accomplish their goals.

Thanks Chris. I don't intend to chill. I need to get a bunch of projects started because getting started is the hardest part. If I get a bunch of art projects rolling, working on them in my free time will be much easier. I often wonder how the musicians of the forum find time to work on music after work, since I struggle to allocate time to draw and paint.

The image of that poor man getting his head cut off will haunt me. Job sucks. Had to "have a talk" with the boss today--he's a moron and an asshole to boot (great combo). No social life. No money to spend on cds. Gas prices are killing me. Struggling to get my art going. Just got two cds I didn't want from a music club--forgot to send in the stupid card. I've got serious gas so my stomach hurts. Noisy helicopter's been over the house for a half hour and keeps drowning out Stan Getz. Kings are beating the TWolves. Posted carelessly and came off like a jerk. Thanks for letting me rant. On the upside: Lakers won two straight. Inspired, I had great rhythm going shooting hoops in front of my house this evening. The rim looked huge. I am going on vacation all next week to work on art.

Definitely convex.

I'm a beginner at this too, but here's some good ones I've heard: Baden Powell PERSONALIDAD Stan Getz/Charlie Byrd JAZZ SAMBA Stan Getz/Luiz Bonfa JAZZ SAMBA ENCORE Lalo Schifrin BOSSA NOVA GROOVE A compilation called "Bossa Nova Brasil" on Verve is fantastic. Where's Jim R? He's got this stuff wired.

Don't tell me y'all don't know Aric. What, are you suprised by his delivery? The Blue Note shirts are printed on cheap fabric, not the Beefy T or Anvil quality you'd expect at $20 a pop. If you do order them, buy the XXLs if you wear XL--these things run small.

I have a bad feeling too, SS1. What can the Lakers possibly correct today that they didn't correct in the first two games? Last year they were down 0-2 to the Spurs then won the next two games before losing the following two... I enjoyed watching the Kings choke last night, with Christie firing up enough bricks for a chimney. Go Wolves.

Krispy Kremes use WAY too much sugar. They're gross. -
Players are really fast when they are allowed to have moving picks to work off.

Well, that sucked. I'm interested to see if the Lakers will respond and make a series of it, or if they will just roll over and get broomed.

I was just employing a few extra thumbs up... Here's a more celebratory image:

I keep thinking I'm going to get better at these BFTs, but I think I'm getting worse. 3 in my collection that I didn't recognize. If this were Caddyshack, Ty Webb would tell me, "You...You're not good, you stink." Thanks again for the great disc, Rockefeller Center.

I got it! Shame on us!!!! The only excuse is that it's one of his least known albums ..... click here Hurra! Dammit. I have that, and it is tucked in a weird corner of my collection (of course, by alphabetic nature). I knew I had heard that weird string arrangement before. My favorite song on the album is "Soul Of A Village." The song you chose is good because its sound doesn't make me think of this pianist for some reason. Man, I miss 32 Jazz. $9 cds of great albums.

I'm not counting the Kings out. Mike Bibby is playing extraordinary basketball.

The Tenderwolves choked game one. MVP KG sort of disappeared for a spell... Icing on the cake--Doug Christie put the nail in the coffin with a late three that ended all hopes of a last second comeback.

RDK adds a wrinkle to the #9 mystery. What say you, Rockefeller Center...
