Wow, I hadn't heard of such problems with DVD-R. That sucks. I guess I won't know until I try to use one of them way down the line. I'm not breaking those MFs into CD-Rs, that's for sure.

In order to make it easy to move files on and off my iPod, I keep the ripped files on external drives and have them all backed up to DVD-R. At almost 5gb each, the DVD-Rs didn't take too long to burn.

Me too, at least to some extent - I've been re-buying many of the OJCs that have gone out of print recently. Many of those are only available in rather lousy 128kbps quality from eMusic (where I got them initially) and I really prefer to have the liner notes available when listening to the music. Agree completely. I love having the quality audio, liners, and album art. Anything less is second rate, like not actually having the album. I'd like to do what porcy62's done, but it's financially out of the question for me.

I'm doing exactly the opposite: upgrading my mp3s to CDs. Let them have their lame collections of mp3s! Dummies.

I'm creating an Excel sheet of all my music, and I've been using AMG to find the years and labels for some of the stuff. I've been experiencing the same thing with the Discography page, at random times. Sometimes it loads fast, sometimes it's slow, sometimes it "times out." The most aggravating thing is when they list the year of the reissue and not the year an album was recorded. There should be a different category for reissue year as opposed to recorded year.
