  1. ahh... but did they have these? seems like everything in Indiana is as big as one's head....
  2. Baby, that ain't your wife, that's your momma...
  3. Catesta: hot Italian guy group Chuck: hot creative older guy group Flirting always takes the edge off for me.
  4. Man ---- would I be up for that!! Her orchestra's performance in Orange County a few years back has been my *most* memorable jazz experience --- bar NONE. I'll drive the first shift; I'll wake you when we get to the first Dairy Queen.
  5. Ah, my high school diet! ditto for moi; however I would have had a Grape Nehi instead of the Pepsi..
  6. Can you slap that 'HOME DELIVERY' sign on the roof of your truck again? Love the arancini. If you can't, I've discovered a terrific Italian place in Zionsville, Indiana, (right in the middle of "fried-tenderloins-as-big-as-your-head country", so it definitely makes a statement...). The owners are straight from Brooklyn and make the best arancini.... warms this transplanted east coast girl's heart. But I bet yours are just as good.
  7. Am I the only one giggling at this thread because I keep thinking of the *other* meaning for "piece of pie"? <then 7/4 has to throw in "sushi"....> I think most men on this board would prefer the pie.
  8. thanks Jeff. Just proves the healing power of children, eh?
  9. Ah.... little girls The heart that she made needs to be lovingly stored in a scrapbook of some kind for years to come. March 1 used to be one of those sad 'anniversary' days (my father's passing); now I think I will probably always remember the story of little Soul Streamette's hearts (the one that she made and the six-year-old one filled with innocence and love...)
  10. (what more could you ask for....) Happy Birthday Big Guy!
  11. Ditto what B3-er said.... what a picture you've painted.
  12. Won't be Dale Davis--double D is coming home to Indiana....
  13. Happy Birth - day dear Wesbed.... Sorry I missed it!
  14. Happy 30th! Life begins at 30, ya know...
  15. I LOVE Match Game! That theme song!!
  16. I think the 27th is Noj's birthday, Rachel -- it's just being celebrated in all time zones around the globe! well, being in bass-ackward Indiana which has two time zones and multiple counties that participate in daylight savings time and others that do not, I always like to cover all of my bases. So I'll probably wish Noj "HB" tomorrow too, just to be safe.
  17. Happy Birthday Noj! Sorry I missed the fun...
  18. Happy Birthday JK!
  19. Oh Allen, silly boy... you make it so easy to *go there*. Where's that silly editor when we need him.... Sorry Others have questioned you throughout this thread and until now you persisted on addressing me only. You come at me and I'll come right back. How did I know that your next post would be a listing of your curriculum vitae.
  20. I love how this thread has become the "What Does Allen Lowe Think About the World" thread. Honestly I could give a rat's ass what you think about Pat Metheny's playing. I prefer to speak to those who have actually played and recorded with him. You don't know me at all, so don't pre-judge me. Hell, you had to ask B-3er if he played a real B3. I don't necessarily believe this to be true at all because there are many writers, especially on this board whom I admire and respect because they understand that there are opinions out there that are different than their own and don't mind the questions. But in your case it might apply: Those who can, do; those who can't, write about it.
  21. thank God for editors, eh?
  22. go back and re-read your initial posts... maybe it takes 57 posts for people to express themselves more clearly.
  23. Hey, just reading what you wrote. I'm not the only one who thought it was a logical leap. You continued by saying that Metheny's attitude is why you hate the sound of most jazz guitar, then you say that you don't hate Metheny's sound, you just don't like it very much. So, Metheny's attitude makes you hate the sound of most jazz guitar but make you just 'not like' his so much. Sure, 57 posts later your point is a little more clear...
  24. For the record I said that your initial statement made no sense because it made no logical sense, not because I necessarily agreed or disagreed. You extrapolated quite a bit from a few sentences from an article and made a quick pronouncement that seemed like a broad jump from point A to point B. You have no idea what type of music I like. Yes I'm a jazz fan, but I'm also a fan of many types of music. But I'm a logic fan too: I was responding to your words and wondering how you could dismiss all ( or at least most) jazz guitar based on something Pat Metheny says (as if he speaks for all jazz guitarists). That's all.
